Perfect Metal Albums?

TRITSIO automatically loses because of the amateurish violin playing on the first track.

There is not yet any metal album that deserves 10/10. Not even close, really.

Varathron's His Majesty at the Swamp and Cadaver's In Pains are as close as it comes to perfect. The rest are just striving to get there.

Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon (the Black Metal essence)
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Slayer - Reign In Blood

that's cool, I just can't believe that he would bash me for my music taste in liking (early) necrophagist, when he listens to killswitch engage and cradle of filth

reign in blood is awesome all the way through, it's very close to perfect for me, but the solos get really irritating sometimes

Necrophagist are awesome, while I dont think any of their ablums are perfect, they are one of the best death bands going around. I enjoy early cradle as well, mainly Dusk and Pricipals... Neither of which are perfect either.

Katatonia-brave murder day
Agalloch-ashes against the grain

Sentenced-north from here
Diabolical Masquerade-nightwork
Bloodbath-resurrection through carnage
Dissection-storm of the lights bane
God Macabre-the winterlong
Demigod-slumber of sullen eyes
Adramelech-psychostasia(original version)

I find Cruelty and Dusk to be their best albums by far. I was hesitant to check them out but Thoth Amon told me "Dude just listen to them!" so I did. And the first time I listened to Dusk I was amazed. The guitar work, drums, melodies and whatnot were all pretty stunning. Vocals took me a few listens to let sink in but I now enjoy them very much as well. But whatever, fact is their earlier shit is great. And people who slam them are idiots.

Okay, here we go...

Darkthrone-Transilvanian Hunger
Burzum-Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Graveland-Thousand Swords
Immortal-Damned in Black
Avian-From The Depths Of Time
Dissection-The Somberlain
Dissection-Storm Of The Light's Bane
Candlemass-Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
The Crown-Deathrace King
Countess-Heilig Vuur
The Absence-From Your Grave
Dripping-Disentegration of Thought Patterns During A Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss
Metallica-Ride The Lightning

Took some thought. The first two Emperor albums ae extrodinarily close, but for some reason I decided against including them.

What is it everyone sees in that Graveland album that makes it so good? I dled it a while ago and can't seem to get into it. I sent it to Thoth Amon and he liked it too. Wtf am I missing here?

I honesty don't have a problem with cradle of filth. I think people tend to think they are mallcore. One of their new tracks Cemetery and Sundown is excellent.
