(i dont even know what i mean exactly).
About all I agree with in your post.
IMO: Now that some time has passed and the we've put some distance between us and the turbulant times of transition (adding Per, replacing Lopez, then Peter) I truly feel that the band is better now than we could have possibly imagined. People hate change and wish to cling to old feelings and experiences that made them feel good. That only guarantees dissapointment, as things always change and nothing can be made to last. NOTHING. Fortunately, the changes experienced in the band have injected new life, talent, ideas, energy, dedication, and stability. Mike is a smart man, and after having spent some time with each of these guys, watching them find their place in the band both as a family and as players, I couldn't be happier with the his choices regarding new members or the bands direction. The show in LA at the Wiltern was the most energetic, steady and tight performance I've seen from the band... and I've seen them several times over the years. Fred's style and creativity will be felt deeply over the course of records to come btw, and all of the members continue to develop their skills individually and as a group.
Peter's out. Lopez is out. As much as I love those guys and what they brought to the band in it's earlier phases, I cannot wait to see what the future will bring. Sorry guys, but there's really not much to complain about in regards to Opeth right now. Change is inevitable... thank God some changes are for the better.
Oh, and FFS stop posting things like, "All Opeth fans agree...." or "We all know...", ok? For example, not all of us think PH sucks.
