I have a brother who likes indie. even I like some of those bands like Sonic Youth and Husker Du. I look at it this way, at least he's not into the crap they play on the radio. at least he has taste.

well as far the bands I hate:

all those fratboy pseudo-hippie acoustic rock shit bands
most rap
all modern R&B (probably the reason I will never have another girlfriend again, cause all Youngstown chicks like that stuff, and usually look at me in disgust when they find out I like metal and punk)
Finnish melo-death (so gay)
slam death metal (wigger crap, however, I like technical brutal death)
modern country (I had an ex who listened to this crap. I even called her out for it and she got pissed)
those fake wannabe emo bands (its not even real emo)
reggaeton (don't get me started)

however, I do find some pleasure in listening to these genres (watch out: guilty pleasure alert)

late 70s/early 80s new wave
some disco
old school rap
jazz (the good kind)

I love the sound of Synthesizers. I love the Synth made sound effects in the Twilight Realm of Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Also lots of great videogame music is made with Synthesizers, like the boss battle music in Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, its kickass.

Notice I underlined the word overly for emphisis. I have never leaned heavily toward electronic keyboard based music, even tasteful mix such as fusion or prog is one thing, but keyboard based is another, but what else would one expect from a guitar player. Now if you talking piano or Hammond B3 mixed with acoustic or heavy guitar, I'll be right into it.
