Good cover. I especially liked the vocal delivery. The mix could be a bit more upfront on the instruments, but really not bad.

Thanks!

I know, the guitars are too low in the mix. I'll probably fix it along with a few of the other problems... The vocals are by a friend who plays in a few bands like the Mike Albert Project and Decimate Inc I'll let him know you like em.

Your covers are very well done. Do you have any others?

Thanks! I'm working on The Night and the Silent Water.

There's something wrong with most of the links. I could only download the Drapery solo and Amen Corner.

Good soloing on the Drapery. Playing is ok on Amen Corner too. The mixing is a bit weak since everything is in the middle except for the hihat and cymbals.

The clean middle part sounds very weird. I don't think the chords are right? Sounds like there's a pitch shifter on the clean rhythm.

I've corrected the links thanks, but I dont really get what U wanna mean on the clean part of AC,if u could send me your tab I could check... And for the mixing, instead of you, I dont use soundfonts, that's why maybe U find my mixing weak.. Hints on the mixing would be greatly appreciated tought! (Sorry for bad english) Thx!

I don't know about tabs... it just doesn't sound right. The first half of the clean riff sounds okay but the last half sounds wrong.

I checked out the rest of the bunch. Okay playing, the mixing could be improved.

About mixing.. first few things to improve would be
- to record rhythm guitars both left and right (not in the middle)
- try using equalizer on the individual tracks to emphasize certain frequencies (not the same frequencies on every tracks.. I'm not sure what to do with each track, it's kinda hard giving pointers with EQ usage, I usually just play around with an equalizer and try to figure out what sounds best)
- listening to commercial recordings and comparing them with your mix might help you hear what things to improve, emphasize or lessen

Remember, mixing a song properly can take ages, so don't get discouraged if you don't get it right away. I've done dozens of recordings and tried to improve bit by bit along the way. It's a long way.

I've gotten rid of the programmed drums for another of my demos and rerecorded them using my Roland TD12k electronic drumkit. It's sloppy in parts, and i could make all sorts of excuses, but there's no need - it's just to give a good idea of what's to come when i get round to actually properly recording.

Listen, add and then comment if you want, but most all of i hope you enjoy :)

Some wicked stuff you got there mate. Songs really could benefit from vocals. They're very promising without them already. In fact, you could consider turning some of them into pure instrumentals (if you haven't already) by adding little flavours here and there instead of adding vocals. Keep up the good work. I especially liked the Virtuous. It sounded strangely familiar, but I guess it's just that it's a good songs and sometimes they tend to sound familiar when they're in fact.. not :)

Thank you very much! I intend for there to be vocals, but i am currently trying out guys who could do them. I would rather they stay instrumental for now rather than me doing piss poor 'grandad' growls. And all the songs are demos and only like.. Half of the song, so there is a fair bit missing from the recordings.

Trust me.. I have a lot of unrecorded material that blows this stuff away. When i find some band members, i'll get round to actually recording the albums.

Thanks again for the critique.:kickass:

p.s. look at all bands in my top friends list.. They're all huge influences (some of them you won't hear in the songs on the site because they've influenced other songs). That's why it might sound familiar lol.

Ok so I've spent like 10 hours on this project and this is how far I've gotten. It's still very rough and I sort of gave up after the mellow part because I can't understand the time signature after that. I'm planning on working on it some more but I could use some feedback! ANY comments or suggestions about my playing or my sound or anything else would be appreciated! thanks.

oh, and this is my first post, so hello everyone.

edit: p.s. if anyone wants to record vocals over it... please do and repost!
