Post your Hauls!

Any Blue Öyster Cult fans here? Just bought pretty much all their stuff from the debut up to and including "The Revolution by Night".
Been listening to a bunch of their stuff for a while now and finally decided to buy it.

Here. Not an ultra fan, but I do like them a lot.

My favorites are "Secret Treaties" and "Fire Of Unknown Origins", but as remasters (the CBS collection) I think the best done was "Spectres".

Got the luck of seeing them live (free!) in Reno, Nevada back in 2004. Only Dharma, Bloom and Lanier were in the band from the original line-up and they missed some great songs, but still was beyond dreams.

Ah man, that sounds awesome. I wish I could go see them. Seems like they tend to stick mostly to the US as far as touring goes though.

Definitely some of the most unique rock ever.

And that was a pretty sad tour on casinos and hotels. Not the way a band of such linage should have been, but I won't complaint for the chance I had.

They were huge in the 70's and still rock big time in the early 80's sadly afterward they begun to fade. Split and reuniting again spark some interest again but never got the might of bygone days.

did you buy the expanded versions of the first 5-6 albums?

anyways you should have waited. there is a boxset by blue oyster cult due out later this year with every studio album they did for sony. it has the xpanded versions of the first few albums plus brand new remasters of everything else. it also included 1 cd of rarities that were not of the expanded albums and 1 cd of rare live stuff from radio appearances. altogether 16 cd's and 1 dvd.

my haul lately but not very metal related:
1 chris robinson brotherhood- the magic door
2 billy joel- the 2000 concert
3 billy joel- my lives (4 cd/1 dvd boxset)
4 the byrds- boxset (1990 boxset thats 4 cd's)
5 cheap trick- woke up with a monster
6 zz top- la futura
7 stevie ray vaughan- couldn't stand the weather (2 cd legacy edition)

I did. And I know that there's a boxset coming out, but this way was actually cheaper than the boxset. Otherwise I would have waited. And about the rarities, these things tend to be released separately at a later date, I'll just hope for that. :p

yes i know its much cheaper than this boxset but the boxset will have 2012 remasters of everything that wasn't already remastered. after the first few albums any album thats just a plain silver cd with sony on it is like a 20+ year old mastering job and sounds crummy.

also this was the compromise by sony to get the rest of the albums remastered with the rest of the rare stuff. the band wanted them individual like the first few albums but sony said there isn't a market anymore

Ah well, I was under the impressions that the rest wouldn't be remastered.

Bleh! You know it's not very nice of you to say this now AFTER I bought them ok?! :D

Just kidding. I gotta admit I was extremely tempted to buy that boxset when it first became available.
But now it's up for thrice the price (heh), and there's just no way I'm paying that much, remasters or no remasters.

I saw the boxset too, but it's way too expensive for my purposes. I need only good remasters of CE and FOUO, I already have the rest as I need.

just to fill in a little info. the first 4 albums got remastered and expanded in 2001. the band said everything up until and including the revolution by night was getting this done. finally in 2007 after 6 years we got expanded versions of some enchanted evening and spectres. the band actually had posted at one point in 2007 that by late 2008/early 2009 on your feet or on your knees, mirrors and cultosaurus erectus would be released in expanded formats with the final 3 columbia releases that were getting expanded to be out a few years after that. by early 2008 that statement was gone. finally this boxset was announced and the band said this was the only way columbia would remaster the remaining albums and release the bonus material meant for the remaining albums and columbia also agree to remaster club ninja and imaginos which wasn't originally part of the expanded remasters plan

The Canadian haul:

Betrayer - "Betrayer"
Betrayer - "Rusted Icons"
Wicked Angel - "The Remaster Collection MMXI Volume II"

I also ordered the Betrayer EP but it seems it was out of stock (even if CDN charged me for it), so the seller sent me four freebies instead:

Horrorscope - "Horrorscope"
Terror Squad - "Chaosdragon Rising"
Ultimatum - "The Iron Age"
Desdemona - "Stagnacja"

Gonna check the stuff to see if I keep, trade or give away those.

P.S. Terror Squad music is great but the vocals are beyond horrible, sad but what the heck was a freebie :D

Keeping the rest I just made the 1700 CD's mark
