Ahahaha, you guys know the dudes (and chick) in Alabaster Morgue? Jesus, i saw them in Seattle and they were horrible. Honestly, I'm not a douchebag (most of the time), but they are literally the only band I've ever heckled while they're onstage.

yeah. we're actually playing with them this thursday! theyre huge out here. and theyre going on tour, playing in seattle again.
i think theyre ok. theyre great musicians, but the fact they combine black metal with metalcore bothers me. the frontman doesnt fit either IMO. but whatever, theyre cool guys. and vik is a fantastic bass player.
actually, i'm starting a folk metal band with the chic from alabaster morgue, and a couple other guys from the scene (bass player of kastigation, guitarist of hells eden, and some random dude who plays mandolin and other stuff). its gonna be epic. and i'm certain this band will be better than all of our other bands combined.

Yeah they're playing with Martriden here. I'm really surprised they're playing again... they did NOT get even a halfway decent response. I'm sure they're cool people so I don't want to harp on that too much, but the bill they were put on was not something they should have been put on... that was a mistake on the part of the booker. Can't blame the band i guess, but I sure as hell wasn't a fan.
That folk metal thing seems cool though. What would you compare the sound to?

still working on that part. most the riffs i write are a mix of turisas, thyrfing, bathory, and wankery. instead of using symphonic stuff for the melody, i use guitar leads. i dont know what the others will bring to the table. we're gonna sit down and do some jamming once my band, kastigation, gets out of the studio in 2 weeks.
