Pre Show Dinner?

I found it! It was called Leona's...

Also, it's technically not in Lansing, but in Calumet City (which is why I had trouble finding it), but you're right, it's only about a mile or so north from J.J. Kelley's.

Whether we have a "Powerfest dinner" there or not, I plan on eating there sometime during the weekend.

... that guy WAS re-commited a week or two later (remember him?). How DID you recall that name? I could do everything but - I could remember how to get there, what it looked like, and what they served.

They also have big tvs for your sports watching needs. :D

You guys are such whinebots... :)

Fine, Applebees or Olive Garden? Neither is Mexican or Chinese, both have large open tables and good alcohol.

Olive Garden? I was raised in an Italian home in an Italian neighborhood around the corner from my Italian grandparents. Please don't take me to Olive Garden. My ancestors will be doing backflips in their graves. LOL.

Okay... it's settled. Leona's it is.

Now we have to bicker about what time to meet there at. Should I do reservations for 5:00pm Friday? And for how many people? Please respond to this post if you for sure are going and let me know how many people you are bringing

Its not THAT bad considering its a chain(ever try Carabbbbas?:puke: )
Remember,I used to live on Long Island myself, and thank God I know how(even though the only Italian in me was the bodily fluids exchanged with my EX(rip)to make good sauce, because my days in Myrtle Beach were bleak.
As Former NYGiants Coach Dan Reaves said on an interview with WFAN when his Falcons came to NY to play the Jets, the main thing he was looking foward to was real Italian food, because the best Italian food down south was Olive Garden(and I totally agree, although I did find a knockout place in all places WinstonSalem)
BTW,our Virtual friend Scott, when you see him at progpower(speaking of Italian ancestors),he comitts the ultimate sin
His mom (Italian) makes awsome sauce
He goes out and would rather eat Ragu(and only Ragu, when there is now very good restaraunt quality sauce to be found) that tru Italian sauce

LOL... the guy who ordered that big, nasty thing that he didn't like? Sure, I remember... those types need to be exposed to others in a social setting every now and then... of course, I was the one who felt like the big weirdo at dinner that time, because I didn't talk much (except to the weird guy, LOL).

How DID you recall that name? I could do everything but - I could remember how to get there, what it looked like, and what they served.

I searched for restaurants near Kelley's, and narrowed it down to "L____'s" restaurants (for a while, I kept thinking it was "Lucia's" ).

Hey Michael... before you make a reservation, can you please check with them and make sure they have a decent beer selection? I'd hate to be responsible for picking a place that can't meet the needs of the booze-conscious metalhead. I remember that we drank beer there last year, but I don't remember how many kinds they had. I think it was a good selection, but I can't remember. LOL

Yeah, I'm on it... I'll call and post their menu online. I'm thinking we'll probably have 15-20 people.... so hopefully they won't blow me off when I call asking dumb questions like that. Waiters generally look pissed off when I ask them, when they have like 20 to remember

I looked at the carry out menu and wasn't impressed.

Leona's is generic for beer... it's your standard 5 and then Imports for Amstel Light, Heineken, and Anchor Steam. You have three choices for wine too. I'm not sure this place even has enough alcohol to serve us.

I really didn't see what was wrong with Olive Garden or Red Lobster and how this Leona's place is superior, but it really doesn't matter to me where we go.

If anybody has a different place in mind or wants to renominate Red Lobster or Olive Garden, speak now or forever hold your peace.

The Michael

I'm not too picky about where we go either. The most important thing to me is that we are at the venue in time for the first band. :headbang:

Steph

I'm seeing some very familiar faces here. I've seen Stephanie at almost every metal show I've ever been to. Do I have to call you by your silly monicer's or do you people have real names... like Tess, John, Chris and Stephanie do.

I'll call Leona's first and see if they can accomodate that many people. We'll just plan for 5:00pm... meet there and look for the big table with lots of hair.

Boob
Tess
Stephanie
Chris
Shokrok
Bear
Christina (who hates Olive Garden)
Synflower
Mr. Blevins
Jasonic
Time Stitcher (who needs a chair and doesn't like sea food)
---

I'll be bringing three friends
Claire
Ben
Abbie

That's 15 not counting spouses, friends of yours. Who else are you guys bringing?

Well, then you haven't been to too many metal shows, since I only recall seeing you at 2 (Powerfest and ProgPower last year). ;)

I'll be accompanied by Linda, so that is one more person to add to the list.

Well I could say that THE Michael is the sillest moniker I ever read but I wont Hahaha

Bear is my nickname since I was a kid, everyone calls me it, so deal with it.. Boob is bob...Dont know the others

Bear

Okay, Bear, I'll call you that if you like. I didn't mean to offend anyone's symbol of message board intellectualism. I was more curious than anything else what you want me to call you. Bit I suppose we can keep our secret identities.

"The" Michael is to separate me from others who post on message boards under the name "Michael" or "Mike" and many do. Obviously it works, because you guys knew who I was immediately. The "the" for some moronic reason seems to offend people on other message boards. And not surprisingly, I could care less.

You guys can call me Mike or Michael.... no need for the formal title during Power Fest.

Reservations made for 25-30 people at Leona's in Calumet City, Friday April 7 at 5:00pm under the name "Meyers", which is my last name. If more than 30 come, that's fine too. Spread the word. Be there or be square.

1455 Ring Rd
Calumet City, IL

Now we can stop bickering :)
