Prog & Avant-Garde

Prog - Scale The Summit(Rock/Metal), Psychotic Waltz(Metal), Spiral Architect(Metal), Humanoid(Spacey rock)

Avant-Garde - uneXpect(Everything), Naked City(Jazz/Noise), The Fractured Dimension(Classical/Jazz/Metal), Ved Buens Ende(awesome), Virus(side project from drummer of VBE, also awesome), In The Woods...(Doom-ish?), Arcturus(Folk-influenced BM), Solefald(Folk-influenced BM)
There you go,man. Good list. The Black Flux by Virus is one of the best releases of 2008.:kickass:

Here are a bunch of records you should get your hands on!

Univers Zero - Heresie
The scariest music you'll EVER hear. No death/black or any metal is scarier than this.

Plastic People of the Universe - Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned
Think of Zappa mixed with the doomy nature of black sabbath. (No, not the riffs; just the music itself in general)

Samla Mammas Manna - Maltid
They're pretty crazy, with all the circus themes and weird vocals. And it's still accessible!

Henry Cow - In Praise of Learning
When you mix Prog. and free jazz, you get some weird shit.

Hoyry-Kone - Huono Parturi
They've got some strange vocals. There are some outbursts of metallic riffs all of a sudden, but the strangest part of it all are those creepy violins/cellos.

Etron Fou Leloublan
- Les poumons gonfles
They sing in french, but anyways, 'weird' is the only thing that could possibly describe them. I'm not even sure what the heck are they trying to play.

Magma - Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh
Does this really need explanation?!

KoenjiHyakkei - Angherr Shisspa
A modern version of magma with female vocals

Shub Niggurath - Les morts vont vite
Again, another one of those 'i don't know what the heck is this thing'.
