Now I am pretty tired of all this special treatment towards different races than white. Now, I don't go out at all so I don't really know if what I'm claiming is true, but the way I see it, a black person could attack a white person and get it tried as assault but if a white person attacks a black person it gets tried as a hate crime? Now I don't really know if this is true or not but this is the way my mind sees it. I am not trying to be offensive to any black person on this forum but don't you think this is (possibly) a tad unfair?

Thoughts? (Please tell me if what I'm saying is incorrect, I just don't know any better)

I do think its unfair but I'm sure it doesn't apply in all situations.

My elementary school was primarily African American and they would make jokes about me being white and stuff and I didn't care. But then I once said something (I don't even remember what) and it was not intended to be offensive at all and a bunch of people stopped talking to me and called me racist a lot. When I would get in verbal arguments with African Americans they would say stuff about me being white, but then eventually if I insulted them (not even about race) the teachers would get pissed off at me.

Blacks have been discriminated for a while and a lot are ready to take offensive for a lot of stuff. I don't blame them either.

Asians were discriminated (still sorta are) and Hispanics are currently discriminated against but they don't get special treatment. Because they haven't had years of racial tension with whites.

Your perception is absolutely true. It is a generally accepted politically correct rule that only whites are racist and it can never be racist for anyone to attack a white. It certainly is not just disgruntled white people who say this.

Since this is a philosophical forum we should try to get a more philosophical spin on the issue - or at least psychological.

Why is it that the race that once "had it all" and could have conquered the world, wiped out all competition, and reigned supreme, ever started back-tracking and going all ashamed, apologetic and auto-genocidal? Why, at the same time, does this race feel it necessary to help all other cultures adopt the standards of its eurocentric civilisation?

Couldn't there be a half-way situation where the white race just has its own space and leaves other ethnicities to stay in their own space with their own culture instead of globalising all people into one grey mash of rootless raceless slaves to consumerism?

Why does the white race appear to have a masochistic wish to reduce itself to being the underdog that is kicked around?

It is mass insanity.

The annoying part is that if a white person is friends with African Americans then no matter what they do or say to other minorities it isn't considered racist.

By the way CC to me you didn't sound racist at all. It does annoy me how the common world can think any racial stereotype joke that comes out a white mans mouth is racist. Saying "How do Asians name their children? they drop a coin down the stairs" is not racist. Racism is saying that Asians are smarter than everyone else.

Such are the hazards of having things too well for too long. Scientific advancements have acted as a buffer against the otherwise-immediate costs of such a decline in mores. It keeps an otherwise-unsustainable civilization out of the deathbed temporarily, making the decline all the more disastrous.

The very notion of equality is against nature. To say that I am equal to some gang-bager with a room-temperature (Fahrenheit, though they appear as Celsius ) IQ is absurd on its face. Enter socialism: equality before a contract, which I am all for, shifts to equality of intrinsic value, leading to equality of opportunity and equality of means which was the objective all along. With such equality of means comes guilt for a disparity in income, no matter if it is a consequence of their own idiocy.

Why one should be apologetic for something one did not do is likewise silly.

Additionally, I would be all for a group of white people setting up an autonomous territory, entering into a contract with one another to only allow whites on their land save for a 'free trade area'. It is perfectly reasonable, predicated upon freedom to contract and freedom of association. As for any obligation to help other cultures adopt: there is none. If they wish to adopt, let them, we can trade and the virtuous cycle of industrialization commences. However, the lazziez-faire approach i.e. leaving others to their business and starting no business with them is the least-troublesome and thus most desirable. We are already a global minority in terms of population and quickly declining %-wise; we should start acting like one.

You are correct that capitalism has been positive in some instances in the past - but the free market capitalism we have today, and especially the concentration of capital in the hands of large ruthless corporations and individuals who are enslaving people and raping the planet is highly destructive.

I probably came across from my previous post as a "supremacist" to some people - this is not the case. It is merely the case that the white race right now has its arms and legs tied up and is largely gagged as well. The race used to be great, and could be greater still, having really learned a bitter lesson - but instead is virtually dead.

As for corporations, we have always polluted, and have always raped the planet, with or without the legal artifice known as a corporation. That is a side effect of us living here. We are about 200 years into the industrial era and lo and behold, this system has not crashed and burned.

As for the supremacist issue, I know trees by the fruit they bear forth, and groves by their crop yield. Those of Europe and some in the Orient are particularly favourable.

Why indeed?! The apparent mass-scale self-loathing of whites is akin to nothing I've ever seen in history. That most whites today live in mortal terror of being considered "racist" or some such, for simply uttering even the most innocent of remarks, nevermind actually DOING something one might construe as bigotted, speaks volumes on the matter. In many western nations today, an offhand comment about nonwhites may well earn you a large fine and perhaps even jail-time. No matter how enamored with the ideas of "tolerance" and "diversity" one is, I cannot believe anyone actually considers that level of hyper-sesitivity even remotely sensible...or even sane. Yet apparently, not a few do...

Racism is not waht it once was, at least in this country, only 30-40 years ago we had bad Irish, Polish, Jewish and Italian jokes on the tips of everyones tongue.

Ballism is on the rise. No white person can speak the truth without being called a racist. "Racist" "bigot" is even rolling off the tip of the tongue of white youth faster than they can evaluate what is trying to be said. As has been demonstrated many times in this very forum. I think now alot falls back on the same trend of being a bleeding heart society or at least spoon fed the bleeding heart ideals which are dominating governmental policies and attempting with great success to mold the mind of people.

If you make someone or a group of people feel guilt they will in essence hand you "the keys to the city".

Examples such as:
Pointing out the problems of capitalism and you are immeadiatly called a communist or socialist, this conjures up images of Hitler and Stalin and suddenly you are "one of them" and everyone turns a blind eye to the reality of the bad side of capitalism because no one wants to be thought of as Adolf Jr.

Russ Perot addresses a gathering of blacks during his political campaign, regarding their concerns as a race within this country and uses the phrase "you people" and suddenly he's a racist and his political campaign is finished, the distraction was created, problem solved.

A talk show host uses some common phrases as a tongue in cheek joke and his career is finished.

All these things empower people and people love to feel powerful. Sometimes its the easiest way to eliminate the opposition, to throw a tag on them with a negative connotation, now the distraction is created and the rabbling hord jumps on the bandwagon, fixating on a tiny phrase and ignores the rest of what was trying to be expressed.

In the case of races, the people that created the most desired social, economic, political and lifestyle conditions must be guilted so that they hand it over, free of charge. Best way of doing this is to pound them over the head with tags that conjure up bad images. Point out all the mistakes one made in the process of accomplishing their goals because it is common in the human mindset to allow the bad apples to spoil the whole bushel.

Its all about creating a distraction for ones own gain which is a very natural primitive function of all things living. Myself I decided long ago that I would use this same method as a defence to those wishing to place some guilt trip on my straight pasty white ass. Thus why I have been called a racist, bigot, communist, socialist and narrow minded so many times around this place... all to my amusment, watching one wallow in the distraction, the mudbog in the middle of the big picture

And also a black person could also get away from the charge by pulling the race card. Suppose a white cop were to ban a black person from a place for skateboarding there. The black person could get off by pulling the race card. But if a black cop were to ban a white skater, and the skater said "you are just banning me because I'm white." Then the cop might take offense to this. There is rarely ever a time a white person could pull the race card without racism being thrown in their face.

I've heard people say that when whites become the minority, we'll be the ones getting the privileges and affirmative action. I think we need only to look to South Africa on how it would be like to be the white minority. It won't be the same; we won't get any privileges, entitlement, or special "minority rights." We seem to be the only group that allows others all the above.

That's the truth - "promiscuous altruism". We are strong when we use altruism only towards other altruists of our own kin. Indeed the biological equasion on how to maintain genes for altruism in any biological group shows that discrimination in favour of kin is essential. A world where this gene has been lost through indiscriminate application would be hellish.

Took the words straight out of my mouth... To me this paragraph alone sums up so much of the sentiment that comes to mind with this whole debacle. I think the two most IMPORTANT words in here are 'DISTRACTION' and 'GAIN'. The mudbog in the middle of the big picture is precisely whats going on. Problem is, it seems that recognizing these serious flaws, or trying to do something about it, either accomplishes nothing, or flat out works to ones detriment.
