Radiohead Vs Porcupine Tree

i havent heard that much PT...but to me radiohead has mmore killer tracks.....so yeha Radiohead by a long mile for me....but still..."a smart kid" is one of teh most emotive pieces of music ever written...but then again..radiohead has liek 20 of those songs...grr...im loosing it here...this is a very connundrum-esque poll.......i stand by my initial finding...!!!.....PEAC EOUT

Take out Pablo Honey and I'd say Radiohead by a fair amount, but cosidering whole discogs, it's much harder for me to decide than most of you it seems.

considering i love psychedelic, ethereal soundscapes, and have listened thoroughly to BOTH bands,

HANDS DOWN, Porcupine Tree.

Up The Downstair/ Sky Moves Sidesways/ Signify.

radiohead is watered down for the masses..it had the potential to be more diverse, but that won't make you famous/rich...

hard to choose, everything PT's done since Up the Downstair has been solid at worst and half of radiohead's albums (pablo,amnesiac,h2tf) range from average to mediocre, yet OK Computer's beats any PT album anyday so...

anyone who says Radiohead is "watered down for the masses", isn't infinitely more diverse than a band like PT, and/or that the band is worried about being commerically successful and "famous/rich", aka they play it safe, is obviously completely beyond fucking clueless

Well, considering Radiohead is more diverse, and, dare i say it, less commercially palatable than Porcupine Tree, you are clearly not that bright.

I remember when "The Bends" came out in 95 or so and evryone was blown away. So I checked it out and thought pretty good, but what's the big deal. Decent guitar playing, the vocalist has that "whiny" sound to his voice that annoys me. I don't know, I respect them as musicians. Steven Wilson, imo, is one of the best working today. Be that as it may, In Absentia crushes The Bends. With my limited knowledge of Radiohead, they are pretty good when high.

yes, i'm quite obviously a stupid cunt for having a different opinion from everyone else...

look.... i LIKE Radiohead! i listen to them pretty often , in fact, and OK Computer ranks in my top albums of all time!

HOWEVER!

I prefer Porcupine Tree!

those of you who disagree (and that seems to be everyone) can go lick my sack......
