Eindhoven; Rockcity!
Of course there are the obvious choices like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Scorpions ect, but what other bands from that era you like?

I'm not much of a '70s fan, more of an '80s dude.

But some '70s stuff I do like: Alice Cooper, Kiss, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Rainbow, etc.

Hey Wicked Child and Eternal_Decadent nice lists!

Here's mine

The classics:

Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple

And the rest:

Budgie - their first 5 albums
Dust - Hard Attack
Moxy - First 3 album with Buzz Sherman
Max Webster - Fantastic wacko band! I really love this band.
Triumph - they were great in the 70s
Rush
Zon - Astral projector classic prog like hard rock album
Quartz - Black Sabbath like band
Yesterday & Today - Their first 2. The second album "Strack Down" suffers from a weird "space drum" production.
Riot - "Rock City" and "Narita" are true classic's in 70s hard rock.
Scorpions - Uli Roth rules!!
UFO - Schenker!!
Judas Priest
Van Halen
AC/DC Bon Scott, need I say more?
Aeromith - Their "Live Bootleg" is great
Boston
Bachman Turner Overdrive - "Not Fragile" their best album by far.
Cheap Trick - The selftitled debut is like, heavy!! Their lyrics are really funny.
Diamond Reo - "Dirty Diamonds". Typical 70s US hard rock good!!
Driver - "No Accident". Australian band. Long guitar solo's this was a great band.
Frank Marino & The Mahogany Rush - "What's next" is his best 70s album together with their famous live album.
Rory Gallagher - "Live in Europe". He died to soon.
The Imps - "In the Tube". Canadian band led by guitarist Frank Soda. http://www.indiesoundz.com/reverbradio/soda/bio.htm This is a live album. Great guitar work! Get yourself a 6 minute clip from this album:http://www.indiesoundz.com/mp3/frank_soda-going_down_the_tube_blues.mp3
Marcus - "Marcus". Hard Rock/Southern Rock with black singer.
Pat Travers - "Makin' Magic" and his live album are great.
Rainbow - "Live in Germany '79". Fantastic live album much better than "On stage". Recorded at the Rock Palast concerts. I have seen one of those concerts on TV back in 1979. There must still be some video footage from those gigs.
Ram Jam - "Portrait of an Artist as a Young Ram". Great 70s hard rock and boogie! Better than their first album that has their "Black Betty" hit.
Thin Lizzy
Journey
Kansas
Trooper - "Trooper". I love their first album it sounded like BTO and was produced by Randy Bachman. The rest are more commercial
ZZ Top BarBQ!!!!

Thanks man. Well being almost 45 [11th of oct] I kinda *must* be old school. That being said I count Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir and Nevermore among my favorite bands :D

BTW did you try and download that blues track from the Imp's live album? I rocks!!

@ Tool:

I forgot to mention Styx. Thanks for making me remember
