Recabinet

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I'm not ruling any options out at this point, and original plugin development has been on my consideration list from the beginning. I'm going to take this more seriously now and I will shoot more specifically to move the product away from Altiverb exclusivity, however possible, given the cost issue.

I started the project with two goals: Recabinet will sound as good as miking up a real cabinet, and it will be inexpensive. I don't want to let the current state of the convolution reverb plugin market get in the way of the second goal.

The clip is not processed other than some EQ passes above 20k and below 20hz on the guitar, and a relatively conservative amount of master buss limiting.

Major breakthrough - I've gotten my impulses to work in both SIR and Revalver MK III, with no difference in quality compared to Altiverb!!

I have strong reason to believe that Recabinet will also work in most other popular impulse software (Voxengo, etc.), but I haven't gotten to testing them all yet. An official list of supported software will be available after I finish testing.

Yep I'm signed up for the mailing list and I hope I'm one of the lucky ones who win this free. :kickass:

Oh and on a side note is there a way you can possibly like watermark or whatever its called (like Slate samples) so people can not p2p or torrent them. I'm sure you already have thought about this stuff, just thought i would ask anyway and maybe suggest if you have not to looking into something similar!

Recabinet will be protected via similar technology, so that any p2p leaks can be traced back to the original purchaser/leaker. That way, if anyone leaks it, they will end up like the "Chinese Democracy" leaker.

In all seriousness, I would email somebody personally to notify them to take their torrent down before I would pursue any legal action.

Congrats on getting it to work in multiple programs.. especially now it's working in SIR it has taken more of my interest!

Signed up and good luck with this, the sample sounds great!

Good to hear. Yea and I agree the sample sounds great...

How many IRs are gonna be there? Will they be organized by brand/type of cab and mic position like we are used to?

It's going to be a big library, many different modern 4x12 cabs, mics, positions, etc., all organized by subfolders. It's still in development so I can't say exactly how many files it will be yet.

I plan to make free upgrades to the main Recabinet 1.0 modern 4x12 cab library over time for all registered users, and also to add expansion packs such as vintage combos, botique cabs, celebrity producer packs, etc. It's all in the works, but I can't discuss details (yet.) The email list will be the first place I announce news.

I will soon launch a full website with more clips, videos, etc., as well as a free demo cabinet pack.

Are you planning on including IR's of bass cabinets as well? :) and different mics, apart from the sm57?
