I don't think NOTSR is generic. Everything else from the band is very generic.

I don't think Iced Earth is generic at all, and since you're debating this in a thread about power/prog music, it's kind of a moot point, no?

Most of the stuff that I'd recommend has already been mentioned. But I'd also recommend Lanfear. Check out The Art Effect and Another Golden Rage. These guys are along the lines of dark power / prog bands like Evergrey, Angel Dust, etc. etc.

I second this recommendation. More power than power / prog, but Awakening the World and A Flame to the Ground Beneath are definitely worth looking into.

Pagan's Mind is another high recommendation. Check out all three albums from them, all three of them rule. They play power / prog at a super-high energy level, which a lot of prog bands in particular don't have. Nils K. Rue is also an excellent singer, my 2nd favorite behind Barlow.
