Once, I asked a friend of mine what music he likes. He answered death metal, and I laughed before he even got to naming bands. He named GWAR, Slayer, and Hatebreed. Me=

Anyway, point being that since I don't fucking like brutal death metal, but have actually been in the mood for some really fucking brutal music lately, I'm willing to give it another shot with some decent bands. Thus far, Wormed, Devourment and Disciples of Mockery have come up as shining recommendations.

Is Falkenbach a lot like Summoning? Would you reccomend their early material?

I wouldn't say they are a lot alike or even similar... but I recommend them.

"Viking" metal with folk influences. He uses keys, chanting, some black metal riffing. Like most Viking stuff they are really catchy and melodic. If you enjoy anytime of Viking stuff you will enjoy this.

Sounds cool. TMO describes their early material as "Skaldic Metal". Is that a Viking term?

dammit, beat me to itt. Anyway, I highly agree with this. The vocalist if amazing, probably one of the best harsh vocalists around. Creates and EXCELLENT atmosphere. Good drummer too.

Basically, great band.

The Crown, I think should work, pretty much the only melodic thrash band I know other then Darkane.
