I normally dislike Marduk, as they are very boring and lame, but the other day I heard some of their old stuff from "Those of The Unlight", and "Heaven shall Burn..." and it was pretty decent. Much better than the crap I had heard previously. What so you guys think of that stuff?

I've been intruiged by Root (Cze) for a while now. I understand they now produce a sort of blackened heavy metal sound with clean vocals.

How much have they changed, and which albums are best to start with?

I haven't explored anything past Kargeras. Zjeveni, Hell Symphony, and The Temple In The Underworld are top notch Czech Black Metal.

I'm attracted to Temple in the Underworld simply for the killer cover art. Are the albums you mentioned more orthodox black metal then? I'm also curious about this more 'epic' sound they moved into.
