I'd suggest avoiding them altogether. what a truly terrible band are they.

I've been meaning to check out Anaal Nathrakh. What's worthy?

The Codex Necro is one of the scariest albums I've heard. Domine Non Es Dignus is experimental and weak in comparison to Codex. Eschaton brings it back together and integrates the brutal black metal of Codex with the better parts of DNED, with more grind influence thrown in.

CHM might just be their worst, aside from STD. I'd also say APP for a beginner album; it's right in the middle and has the best of both worlds.

I thought they sounded like an In Flames ripoff at first, but I loved the ambience. Got a bunch of other stuff higher on the to-get list, though.

Soilwork are much different than In Flames, they are less melodic and even less Death metal influenced. I wouldn't call them ambient though...

That is a really great song. Other good ones on there include Millionflame and Neon Rebels. That album is pretty lackluster to me, though.

Good old school death metal, kind of annoying vocalist though.
