Relentless Reckless Forever (Out March 8th, 2011)

Is the Rock House DVD that comes with the pre order bundle things the same one that's out right now or is it something that isn't released yet? I tried searching for information on this shit and I swear to god it's really hard for some reason...

from cobhc.com

"Super Deluxe Edition", which consists of the album housed within a 64 page hardcover book, plus a DVD containing a special behind the scenes look at the making of the "Was It Worth It?" music video, COB "Live from Bloodstock Open Air" footage, as well as a first look on Rock House instructional guitar lesson with Alexi Laiho, taken from the upcoming Rock House Method: Alexi Laiho 'In Your Face' instructional DVD, which also hits the stores on March 8.

That's probably the whole dvd that is being released on the 8th. They had some of those lessons on the Alexi mega pak that was at Guitar Center only. Which came out a few months back.

Just placed my order at http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ for the regular edition with the two bonus tracks. First press available and gets you a Bodom poster too. The poster of the band that came with Blooddrunk is my favourite one of them. Got it signed at the Toronto show in 09. I'll have a pic when I finish moving.

Party All The Time and what?

anyone heard any updates about the next cobtv? the album is only a little more than a month away and honestly unless there's going to be some HUGEE promo campaign it seems pretty lackluster to me. i'm not the bands manager, i'm not involved in them in any way shape or form but i think i can safely say so far the choices they've been making in terms of promotion haven't been great for the majority.

i get the whole withholding everything until close and releasing it all but honestly these days fans and regular music listeners want to be really close to the band and really appreciate direct contact and lots of info. you can overdo it obviously (my band's cd has been delayed but we gave so much info and kept in contact so much that our buzz actually died a tiny bit except our hardcore fans stick with us no matter what) but what's going on now is really underwhelming.

from things not having real dates, to ideas for info being thrown out and not really coming to fruition, to having heard almost no samples of the album except the single, to no cobtv yet; honestly overall it just seems like if they are going to unleash everything at once or even keep it silent a lot of people out there don't check the bands info constantly and will miss out and the superfans will be too filled with info to really get excited.

this was kinda a joonas post since it had no real info and was just my opinion and such but i just kinda felt like i wanted to say something. by now if there had just been small samples, more cob tv episodes, at least more info every couple of weeks it could suck in more mainstream fans and get more info into the media to give hype and buzz for the album but it seems like it ends up just being cob-super fans freaking the fuck out about nothing and everything else stagnating. not everyone has time to check blabbermouth.net every second so if its going to be a media storm before the album then it will definitely miss a lot of people.

either way i'm still pumped as shit and i can't say my way of doing it is 100% better than theirs with no doubt but it just doesn't make sense and so far a lot of the things leading up to it have really let people down. i have no doubts the album will be great as the band constantly progresses and does what they want making the most organic music to them without a lot of fear of backlash, but whoever is in charge of marketing realllyyy dropped the ball (especially with the importance of this cd's release; with a producer like matt hyde, the single the way it is, all the hype and building up to this point, to end up not getting as much of an explosion in sales and new fans due to withholding info as a form of marketing would be a gigantic shame and i really hope it doesn't affect the band in terms of exponential growth as it seems like it will).

But to be true, most cd releases aren't hyped that much. Unless it's Iron Maiden, Slayer or whatever it isn't a multiple month hype.
Example: Amon Amarth releases their new cd 28 March or something. But there was no indication whatsoever that they where even recording it. Last week suddenly came the news that they recorded it and it will be released in 2 months. So there wasn't a hype giong. It will just slowly build up in the following months.

But I guess that cobtv 4 will be released around mid February, as I said before. That is close enough to the release to get the hype going. If it would be released tommorow, people will be excited for 3 weeks, but that doesn't lead all the way to the release.
And posting it earlier because the cd might leak is bullshit as they never change their schedule for whatever illegal thing might happen.

I don´t fully agree with the labels/managements idea of withholding things either, I personally would have released at least one video (wiwi) already. Then again I am not a marketing professional and some of them are. I hope.
I was supposed to work on the next cobtv epsiode couple of weeks ago, seems I have forgotten about it, I will look into it. We were hoping to release an episode before the album release.

For those who think the Blooddrunk and WIWI riff are really similar; a little comparison someone made
http://rghost.net/4005496
That is indeed not 100% different. The WIWI riff sounds a bit more complex.

Did Joonas start this one too?
When comparing those two one might start a by noticing that BD is 12/8 and wiwi is 4/4. Both are in D but aside from that I can´t find any similarities. (one three note passage among about 80 notes)
About as similar as Paranoid and Enter Sandman?

Big dot, said the same thing earlier.

No? There's a very different feel to the riff (gallop) , it's just in the same key.

Sshhhh!!! You better edit that passage, before the executives see it and give you a good asswhoopin' ;)

I always interpreted BD as 4/4 with triplets. I think there's practically no way to know if it's 12/8 or 4/4 with triplets from just listening to the song. Not that I agree with the claims the two riffs are very similar. Just sayin'.

I guess it's more about the similar speed and the triplet feel (and, to some extent, the kind of dissonant harmonies) than the notes per se. With that I can agree, it FEELS similar initially. It really isn't that similar though, when you look at it closely.
