No, you can't and I don't think there are many humans who actually can. Humans don't have (as of yet) enough brain capacity to grasp huge numbers or distances such as, well, the distance between our galaxy and the Andromeda, and "nothing" isn't exactly one of the easiest things to think of either.
Hopefully some day the evolution will upgrade the human operating system so that we'll be able to use a bigger partion of our brains.
Existance after death, hmm. I don't really care if there's something after death. I
wish there's something into which this life is a preparatory period or something like that, but I don't
think there is. And since there's no way I can affect it, I'm not going to be bothered by it.
I'd be interested to see what there is, though, just to know if I should kill myself right now or live the life to the fullest. On the other hand, why not just live life to the maximum anyway? But, on the other hand, why not just end it now.. heh.
The most boring scenario I could think of is being born again and again on Earth (as a human) as part of some sick recycling pattern. Yuck.
