Searching for someone to mix an album.

Here's my attempt, no sample replacing except added a sample to make the snare a little fatter, then there were some snare hits when drummer supposedly hit the snare mic resulting loud weird cracks n pops, so I replaced those.
Mixed with headphones, I'd like to get some feedback about the mix from everyone.

Finally checked this with monitors, and had to correct some levels and eq,
here's the better version :

Feedback please!

For sure, I look forward to your mixes. There's been some really cool takes on the track here. It's always great to see such a turn out and so many people mixing.

I'm hoping to get mine done eventually, but we have a week of constant 43 to 45 degree (celsius) weather here in Melb along with paid work I have to do as well so it's not looking good... real cool track though and would be nice to tighten up and finish. I'm just a bit lazy when it comes to having to edit drums out this much.. they really don't groove as much as they should, so they have to be edited to sit closer to the pocket.

Thanks Shadow. That's a great compliment!:)
I'm not sure I dig the kick all that much and there's a few issues here and there (clicks, misplaced hits...). But I like the dryness of it.

as their are a lot of great mixes, :headbang:
maybe we should start sharing our differnt mixing and mastering
approaches here ?

slighty updated my mix/master :

some notes on my mix/master:
i only used 2 (the guitar with more presence, one of them sounded too muffled) panned hard l / r, 1 guitar is heavily compressed and stays center. liked that sound.

i did 4 additional copies of the vocal track, panning hard L and R, pitch shifitng the left one 50 cents up, the right side 50 cents down + low cutting those additional tracks at 700 hz, highpassing at 3 k.

my kick sample is a custom one , the snare sample is a custom one as well, but its too static as it only has 2 different layers, machine gun like..., i'm about to get slate 3.0 though. gonna update my mix then.

mastering i went for a standard squashed, not too loud (-8.5 db rms), i figured out my mix sounded more hifi than a lot of the other mixes...
anyone consider this a bad thing? i liked it a lot for that song :-D

@ freddrik: nice samples. is that slate 2.0?
