Should I listen to power metal?

Kamelot are very good March of Memphisto intro is very good.
Recently went to see DragonForce at Newcastle Uni it was quite and energetic show, fast power metal = good mosh pits lost my T-shirt and I rarly ever venture into mosh pits but an enjoyable show.

moshing to power metal LMAO

Oddly enough, some of the most violent moshing I've seen has been at Power/Heavy Metal shows. By violent, I don't mean people being punched in the face and fighting, just a typical slam dance mosh. Finntroll wins the crown for the most intense I've seen however.

Brainstorm(GER) is a good example of power metal without tons of cheese. The album 'Ambiguity' does not replace your dick with a cunt for the during of the album.

The word you're looking for is "duration" btw.

Yes yes we all know the epitome of everything weak and lame in the world is a vagina.

Anyway, perhaps I'll check out Brainstorm as well, they sound interesting even though I don't typically like Power Metal.

The only power metal bands I listen to semi-regularly are Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, and Evergrey...then Nightwish just for kicks. I'm more into progressive music.

OUT.

I agree that there are good power metal bands and there are bad power metal bands. I myself listen to alot of power. But a good question to ask is what you consider the diference between classic heavy metal and power metal. i for one argue that classic savatage (sirens, dungeons) is just old school power metal (good stuff by the way) i also suggest gamma ray, Helloween, and Metal Church
(yes i consider them power even though they have thrash roots)

I suggest most power metal as there is alot of good stuff out their regardless of what limp dicked pussies who cant carry an axe think.

On that note im pretty fed up of hearing power metal being dissed and knocked or called "Homosexual" by no hopers that would need a magnifying glass and a pair of eyebrow pluckers to find their own balls.

Because I don't really. The closest thing to power metal I actually like is Manowar, and that's more for the novelty factor than anything. I guess I just want to know if I'm really missing anything.

No, no, no, no, no.

I can't stand it.

I love how every discussion on the internet devolves into name calling and harrassment. It's pretty funny, but not as funny as Axel-Slash's comment.

That reminds me of a sig someone has on another forum.

It gos some thing like "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded".
