not if i haven't misunderstood how you use "jr". if i was named the same thing as my father i could be called "... den yngre" (the swedish version of "jr". no one uses it since a few hundred years ago or so, but still). however, there's no reasonable way to call me something with a "-son". it's simply a surname.

so i hate to ruin it even more, but you're probably closer if you just see it as the same thing as the -son surnames in the us (or wherever else). as i said, it doesn't change over generations, and these surnames probably have a similar history wherever they occur. the only difference is at some places (i think it's pretty common in for example iceland) there's a "-daughter" equivalent to the "-son".

Ah well, what can I do :p ?

SWEDISH REVOLUTION OF NAMES BECAUSE OF A COSTA RICAN!!!!

WHEEEE!

...all right, forget I said that.

But in Iceland, the name changes from generations!!! Not in Sweden, but if my name is let's say Mikael Stanne and I would like to change my surename I just have to ask my father what his name is and his reponse is maybe: Johan Stanne. Then I could change my name to Mikael Johansson, but why would I want to be named that. Half of everybody in Sweden is called that.

I wonder where KC got the "Mikael Stanne is a false name" stuff from. That's inpossible in Sweden. KC - did you make it up? :(

Hell yeah!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Ah... I can't say enough how good that konzert was..... The best part is that I waited for about 90 min with a guy that I became friend of who everyone calls "Peluche" (literally "Teddy Bear"), after the konzert in order to meet the band. And guess what: I DID!!!.

Can't believe I took a picture with fuck*** Mike, Schmier and Mark!!! The even signed my cds and all!!!

I'll probably post the pic later (if Imageshck isn't too slow...).

@ Tritonus:

So what names are more-less uncommon in Sweden?

If you don't belive, me just look for the crucifixion wounds on his hands and feet... And take notice of what happens when you merely think about the image of Niklas Sundin's sister naked when you're in his presence (expect a telepathic phantom punch)... oh and the final test of my honesty, call Brandstrom 'Brandstorm' and watch his face light up with glee.

860: If Dark Tranquillity were from texas, they'd be the fastest cowboys in the west. Whether or not they use their ultimate gun slinging skills for good deeds or bad would depend on how tolerant they could be of the hot hot weather.

Well, Stanne is not to common. I guess there's no more than 10 housholds or something. Maybe less. My surename - Warfvinge is not common either, maybe 80 households. But there are som thieves who's stolen our name and have called themself Warfving. That's eaven less common. There are maybe 2 or 3 houses of Warfving.

More uncommon names are:

Silvegren (Silve(r)branch)
Parfors (pairstream)
Svinhufvud (pig's head)
Harre (Bunny with an R to much)
Kugelberg ( Kugel (not a real word) mountain)

etc etc

Hahahahaha! What has his sister got to do with anything. Is she hot?
