Slate Virtual Mix RACK

Yep, can't buy it still.

Very very curious on how these sound. Are there any audio examples on gearslutz or something?

Yeah Steven did some comparisons to the hardware counterparts in the long VMR thread.

Those don't do much for me though, it's always better to demo them yourself

Of course, Slate and timing as usual :)

I don't expect a black friday deal if the introductory price is 50%, but I'll wait nonetheless if the intro price covers black friday.

Looks like it, VMR product page has disappeared and I've actually managed to get a demo licence installed to my ilok, just waiting for the installer download now!

Monday apparently, why am I getting dejavu all over again?

If you bought a RAVEN MTX or MTi, yes you'll get a VMR.

Now, for everyone else. We had a build go out today. It was excellent. Having said that... ok actually before I say this I want you to stare at this kitten for a solid minute:

So anyway, now that you're feeling warm and fuzzy... We're fixing one more thing and we'll have the beta team test it this weekend and approve a release for Monday. We've all waited this long, so three more days will not kill you. Unless of course you have a tragic accident within those three days, which we have nothing to do with. Nothing you can prove at least.

At the very least, horseface will buy and sell a few more copies on the black market during the wait.

Cheers,
Steven"

He's a salesperson/marketer.

I know, and i dont mind building up the hype for a release, but if you say something and fail to deliver repeteadly it is gonna piss people off....i guess he really believes in "there is no such thing as bad publicity"

IMHO it would be better is he didnt make such promises and just release it when it is ready as Fabfilter or waves do. Those companies have also salesmen and marketers but dont go pissing people off by making false promises.

Most of the time software is released late. The larger companies usually have a target *quarter* rather than a certain month or date. Even then the first iteration ends up being buggy. :heh:

We're living in a time where there is nothing that's absolutely special about any single piece of software that makes it a must have, there are tons of alternatives. Companies not only have to sell software, they have to sell support and goodwill.

This! The delay is nothing compared to AIR EQ. I will probably retire before it's released.

I hope you're being facetious.
