I don't think we need to worry about the reptillian aliens as much as we do the Sand People of Zeplar 6.
Your post made me literally laugh out loud... as if the bureaucrats in Washington would have the paperwork done that fast that the guy would already be being waterboarded! But then again it has been a few days.Actually, throwing your shoes at someone is one of the worst insults imaginable in the Arab world. I feel sorry for the reporter though he's probably been deemed a terrorist and is being water boarded right now. Bush needs more than shoes thrown at him though he needs to be arrested like the criminal he is and tried before a court of law.

Every legal adult in this country should vote, and the popular vote of the entire country SHOULD decide the winner.
I'll kindly disagree. I think the electoral college is way outdated, and I do think there is better way of going about elections. However, the popular vote is not representative of a country. It represents what is best in certain areas, but not the entire country.
Honestly I think the solution is to just elect this guy into office, and everything will be o.k.

I heard from my parents that this shoe-throwing fellow was beaten severely and had broken ribs after this video and was immediately considered a terrorist and sent to Abu Graib so I guess that one guy was right. I think that's pretty sad, the guy will probably rot and die there. I doubt he will be one of the people Bush pardons before leaving office.
But this guy made a choice and now has to live with it. Plus, now he's got no shoes.
How do you figure? If EVERY adult had a vote, and it wasn't separated by state, but as a whole, and it was a simple matter of majority wins, how is this not a representation of a country? The electoral college is HORRIBLY flawed.
It's as simple as a high school voting on student council members. The kid with the most votes from the student body, wins. Look at the country like a big high school, and we're all students there.
It seems pretty easy to me.
It becomes a representation of certain regions. I know that the midwest doesn't feel the same as the coasts do on some topics (to put it lightly). Shoot, if it was always based on popular vote, you might as well have only the top 10 most populated states vote...
I'm not saying that the electoral college is a good way of going about an election. I do think that there are better ways of doing it, just not based on the popular vote.
Considering that arguement and point of view, it almost would seem then that the various regions of the U.S. are different enough that having one leader doesn't really work well does it?
