So I got an iPod today....

how is the reliability on BMWs anyhow? i've heard mixed results and haven't known many people with them. i mean that is priority #1 for me, growing up on Toyotas and Hondas.

like have the dealer change the oil every 3000 miles and never pop open the hood myself, right?

Better, lurch. Estimated price tag?

that is the best part ... around $26K .... around $30-31K fully loaded

go to www.windingroad.com ... and read the latest review ...
a real no nonsense online car zine.

I really want to try that paddle shifter tranny ... very close to an SMG like on the M series Beemers

3,000 miles? Pshaw n00b.

Beemers have synthetic motor oil; you don't even need the FIRST oil change until 15,000 miles, and then every 7-10k after that.

I didn't do SHIT to mine, and for 34K miles and 3+ years, I didn't have to go in for service once (for anything beyond the oil changes and a recall check).

somewhat wrong. recent BMWs were shit. several, if not all, of the lines have been completely redesigned this year. i would wait a couple years to see how they fare.
the last crop of 5 series cars reputed to be among the worst ever.
however, older BMWs, especially relatively basic 3 series would run on and on and on.

Hmmm, when's it coming out? I'm too ADD to read the review now. I need to get a new car no later than early March, and that pricetag is right in my wheelhouse.

BMW gives you 4year/50K MAINTENANCE FREE ... so technically you are correct.

The new Beemers are pretty much bulletproof ... minus the IDRIVE problem they had on the early new 7 series.

you missed my :loco: you fuxx0r!!!

i use Mobil 1 and change my shit like every 6k minimum. even that is overkill, and i drive mostly surface streets. it bugs me so freakin much when people change their oil every 1500 miles and absolutely FREAK OUT if any oil is burning. oil burns you dolts!!! it's okay!!! just check it often and fill it up if ya need to! ugh:

I had a 2001 325xi, and it was fucking perfect. And, my body style > today's ugly-ass body style.

I don't know anything about the 5-series, since everything besides the M5/540/545 is a piece of shit IMO.

it has been out since the summer ... have only seen a handful on the road since ... not sure why though ... like I said, I have read nothing but positive things abou them

couldnt agree more. i hate their designer. BMW couldve kept the designs they had in the 70s and still had the most beautiful cars on the road. except if porsche did the same with theirs. i saw a mint mid-70s 911 the other day. i had to jerk off right there.

i realy love the enveloping feel of the cockpit of these earlier 3 series ...

what are you driving now?

i would have agreed with when they came out, but they ahev grown on me. It really took balls on BMW's end to do such drastic changes.

Even with all that ... the current 7 Series is THE BEST SELLING 7 series in their history ...
