go to www.windingroad.com ... and read the latest review ...
a real no nonsense online car zine.
I really want to try that paddle shifter tranny ... very close to an SMG like on the M series Beemers
BMW gives you 4year/50K MAINTENANCE FREE ... so technically you are correct.like have the dealer change the oil every 3000 miles and never pop open the hood myself, right?

Beemers have synthetic motor oil; you don't even need the FIRST oil change until 15,000 miles, and then every 7-10k after that.
I didn't do SHIT to mine, and for 34K miles and 3+ years, I didn't have to go in for service once (for anything beyond the oil changes and a recall check).
dorian gray said:somewhat wrong. recent BMWs were shit. several, if not all, of the lines have been completely redesigned this year. i would wait a couple years to see how they fare.
the last crop of 5 series cars reputed to be among the worst ever.
however, older BMWs, especially relatively basic 3 series would run on and on and on.

couldnt agree more. i hate their designer. BMW couldve kept the designs they had in the 70s and still had the most beautiful cars on the road. except if porsche did the same with theirs. i saw a mint mid-70s 911 the other day. i had to jerk off right there.markgugs said:And, my body style > today's ugly-ass body style.

I don't know anything about the 5-series, since everything besides the M5/540/545 is a piece of shit IMO.
