Songs and bands that sounded great until you listened to them

I thought Master of Puppets was good but lots of people were saying "Master of Puppets is the greatest song ever! Whoever doesn't listen to it is a fag!" And stuff like that.

well i wouldn't say its the best song ever... but it is awesome... old school classic :headbang:

Whats wrong with people? Just because you like a band that may indeed be a good band if you say they are the best band ever or say they are better then they are it just ruins it for the person discovering them.

The Beatles in a way. People said they were Gods, and the best band that will ever exist and so I listened to them. I liked them a lot. But then after a couple months I realized they weren't as good as people said. In my opinion (I know I'll get flamed for this) some of their songs were just vocal based, their songwriting was good and meaningful but none of their riffs or instrumentals filled me with energy. It was just the vocals I liked.

metallica.

people praise it like its amazing.

i just dont like them that much they are ok, not great.

What I meant by filled with energy was caught my ear. Or sounded great. All The Beatles instrumentals are just ok in my opinion. I didn't think they were all that great. There were these people on another forum that worshipped them, one person said "The Beatles knew every aspect of human nature and made music that would be perfect to every person". Complete bullshit. I think they just did their own thing.

OMG.

CLOSE THIS BULLSHIT THREAD.

If you don't like it, don't read it, or post in it.

I like Metallica but Enter Sandman was dead to me after the first 20 times. And MOP was dead when I first listened to it, I mentioned it on the first post of this thread. But MOP was something that I liked more and more with every listen like Pink Floyd.

Who I should add to my list. They were given this title of great creative genius. And how their guitar and vocals are so great. Money and Comfortably Numb were good solos and David Gilmour has a great voice but he is not as good at guitar or singing as people say he is.

One thing I need to mention is complete bullshit is how people think the older a band is the more talented they are and the more credit they deserve. I could easily say bands like Porcupine Tree and The Mars Volta are more creative and much more interesting to listen to than Pink Floyd. The Wall was an awesome album though. Pink Floyd deserves credit for influencing both of those bands though.

Oh yeah Audioslave, my friend was like "you gotta listen to them! they're awesome".

Tom Morello and Chris Cornell just don't mix.

The band is ok, I like Tom Morellos guitar work, you just take out Chris and you have a good band. (I like Chris's voice but he doesn't fit)
