Stop bitching the New In flames !

Whoooooaaaaa easy there people.

Metalkicksass, I don't have anything against you, I was just genuinely wondering what you liked about In Flames. Getting back to the topic at hand....

I don't think his vocals ever sounded boring. Definitely dry, but I think it suited the music perfectly. I personally enjoy the parallel between Anders' dry, 'gravelish' growls and the soaring melodies of Jesper and Glen/Bjorn. It worked so damn well for the band.

You want to hear gay vocals go listen to atreyu.

I FUCKING HATE METALCORE VOCALS

Perhaps because it's an IN FLAMES forum? :p
But seriously; the discussions that create the fewest flame wars and result in the greatest number of worthwhile comments are the threads that don't directly relate to In Flames. I'm not joking. Poke around and you'll realize I'm right; talking about In Flames inevitably results in multi-page flame wars involving an absurd number of accusations of homosexuality and almost no interesting, original, or insightful comments, while discussion of other topics is usually fairly rational and productive.

Samples:
INFLAAMESISHTEBEST!!!: Anders vcaols are best!
WeAreInFlames: Yes, I too admire is vcaols.
ILIKEINFLAMESALOT123: YOU FAGGOTS ANDERS VOCALS ARE EMO SHIT. Old in flames was good now they suck go suck a dick.
INFLAAMESISHTEBEST!!!: WHy you post here if you dnt like inFlames?

versus

WeAreInFlames: I am a great admirer of Kreator's Enemy of God. Does anyone else like this album?
Clay-Man: I too was intrigued by it. I particularly enjoyed the songs Enemy of God and Impossible Brutality.
WeAreInFlames: I also appreciated those tunes. However, my favorite track was undoubtedly Voices of the Dead.
Clay-Man: Interesting. I did not like that song at all. I don't enjoy the mixing of melodic death metal and thrash metal.

The difference is not lost on you, I hope.

I FUCKING HATE METALCORE VOCALS

I don't mind metalcore vocals except in conjunction with metalcore music. I mean, I hate really core-ish vocals, but for example people always complain that the singer of Eluveitie sounds really metalcore but I really dig his vocals.

Ok here.

I do not like Metalcore vocals because every metalcore vocalist sounds identical to the next. They try to sound tough but they fail in the process. They try to enhance the brutality but end up sounding like a whining emotional 20 year old, while death metal vocals actually sound brutal, sounding demonic like, or something like such.

Hi all. I started listening to In Flames 3 months ago, and I'm going to see them live in November, in Quebec and just bought their last record. So I thought it was cool, now as a "official" In flames fan, to have access to a whole new community of fans sharing the same passion for In flames. With this idea in mind, I went in the forum ...

Only people insulting the band, "I want a good laugh I'll listen to ASOP" "They've become a sold-out EMO band" "They don't respect they're good ol' fan !" "They only play commercial stuff to attract their new, younger audiance" or the new fans "New fans suck !!!" "They're are EMO kids !" "They don't even know the lyrics of the good ol' songs !!!" INFAMY !!!

Of course I don't know the old songs ! I like In flames because of Comes Clarity and ASOP, and even if I love some songs from the older era (Trigger comes to mind), I listened to the old records and didn't like it. I found them good, but not good enough to learn the chorus JUST for the sake of the good ol' fan ...

In flames changed drastically, we can't avoided. But try to listen ASOP as it is : a new album from a new band, a new style. If you still don't like it, that's your right, Music is a matter of personal taste, but stop bitching the band and their fans so much ! I find ironic that the olds fans are always insulting the band and then asking respect from them ...

And stop calling In falmes EMO !!! Seriously WTF ?

This is EMO

But not In flames ! They changed, that's it. It's actually called Innovation, not EMO.

This isn't even FAIL, this goes STRAIGHT to Jesterass

Hmm ok, well each their opinion. I don't have anything against you though.

Well, you've got an point. I assume that the bitching only appears on the In flames forum?

well, for example the Amon Amarth forum has almost no bickering. Rational debates, mildly insightful comments, and amusing stuff abounds. The Odin's Court forum is basically dead, but when people post it's extremely polite and well worth reading. GMD is a bit of a clusterfuck, but there's none of the 3 page flame wars we get here, and there's plenty of good discussion.

Some would argue that AA did sell out, as they kinda dropped their antichristian themes (which were pretty intense - "masters of war! torment every soul! Rape every whore! that carries the cross!" etc) on the last 2.
And Odin's Court are really really chill and while not mainstream, don't really have anything that would prevent mainstream success if everyone suddenly got a hankering for chill environmentally-minded prog rock/metal.
And GMD discusses all bands, so that's not valid.

uh, no. thanks.

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who loves the old In Flames work AND new work. They are just too different. If you like one, you wont like the other! At best you'll be able to tolerate the other but thats it. Case closed.

I'm one of those people. I love Reroute To Remain and at least half of Come Clarity is just fucking awesome. I also like a couple of songs from Soundtrack.

I love the old stuff just because it's called melodic death metal. :)

I love the old stuff, I like the new stuff........except ASOP...and most of STYE.
