We had Transformers and G.I. Joe growing up in the West, what did you have?

We pulled the heads off of chickens, gouged out their eyes and made finger puppets with their neck cavities.


There's just too much awesome going on here.

I was a kid in the 70's and early 80's maybe it was a little bit different than the west world but we had playmobil, lego, barbie and we had a lot of special "eastern" toys too, hehe. In the late 80's and 90's it was the same like anywhere else.

It wasn't that bad growing up here, Hungary was the most "western" country in the eastern block. I was in Poland twice in the 80's (just for a day we were in Czechoslovakia for 2 weeks), and that was really different. We had to bring food there, because the shops were totally EMPTY. No bread, no meat, nothing. It was unbelievable. Romania was worst. I have strange stories...
