I do, but we are not really gigging atm - the reference to gigs was to international/local gigs to read reviews and get set times etc

Was listening in on a call with a 'supposedly' switched on and respected metal promoter last night where the feasability of an Australian Symphony X tour was raised. he basically laughed at the suggestion saying "you and 7 other people would be the only ones there"
Apparently this is the same promoter who bought the Gigantour here last year.
I was almost shocked with such a bleak assesment. Not the kind of thing we wanna hear

If they come down, it wont be one of the massive promoters bringing them down. The reason he laughed at the idea is because hes used to selling out 3-5 thousand seat venues that make him some decet coin. The promoters would be more like the people who got nevermore, nile or dark tranquility down here - Keep the faith

Argh, this is painful! I need dates!! Haha
Hopefully there is a promoter out there willing to bring them out. A Sydney + Melbourne tour would sell well, other states might be a risk. I'm willing to travel interstate for it.

are you joking, Brisbane would do just as well as Melbourne or Sydney.

Did anyone read the interview with James LaBrie in the July edition of 'Mixdown' mag? He said he can basically guarantee that DT will be here soon, they're just waiting on exact dates from the promoters...

Actually, I've been led to believe from some people, that Brisbane has a stronger prog interest than most states.
I'd say melbourne is where it's at for prog, but speaking as a canberran myself, i'd be far happier driving to sydney
