so the big losers would have to be if i look at the results...:

1.wreath ( it surprised me to see so many posts about that one. its not one of my favs but i still love it)
2.by the pain I see in others
3.death whispered a lullaby
4.weakness ( no surprises here)
5. dirge for november ( another surprise for me i really love it)
6. ending credits ( the only one i don't like at all)
7. a fair judgement ( one of my personnal favorites .. really touched me live)
8. nectar
9.the night and the silent water
10. master's apprentice

i did not expect half of those songs!
by the pain i see in others and dirge for november are 2 of my all time favorite opeth songs.... :erk:

Wooh! I´m so freekin shocked! Master´s apprentices?! Death Whispered a Lullaby? I mean jesus! Master´s apprentices is an amazing song with great dynamics and all that shit Mike is always taling about :) With that amaaaazing part in the middle where Mike is just "aaa"-ing and then they add another vocal-line over that, it blows my mind! And after that the cool "megaman"-sounding solo. They are not just trying to be heavy, they freekin' are!
And Death Whispered a Lullaby, well, as someone mentioned Steven wrote that, so it´s also a great song.

Whoever started this thread should be shot, it has people thinking of bad opeth songs, i refuse to name any... as hard as opeth OBVIOUSLY works on every masterpiece song they have put out, they deserve better than to be labeled bad or crappy, especially if your only reason is "i listened to it too much." that makes it no less of a song people!

I also love Wreath!
btw: 6Arch6Enemy6 - Bloodbath rules!!;) Mass strangulation for the enemies of Wreath;)

:err:
I dont understand it either.. Wreath is one of my favorites. If you turn it on and play the whole song and FOCUS on the music, it really is haunting. It is repetitive, but thats adds to the effect.

So many fans have been spoiled by the richness and variety of textures that Opeth uses that when a straightforward rocker like Wreath emerges, they find it boring. I think it kicks ass. (And when I play the Deliverance album, I crank it to hear Martin's intro.)

I would have to say Wreath is my least favorite, and all the covers and extras that they put on the re-releases, I guess this is a cop out cause they aren't really Opeth songs, but I like Opeth too much to admit I don't like songs.

I skip BTPISIO all the time, but every other Opeth song owns. I cant understand the complains about Weakness, to me its an extremely emotional and awesome track.

There are no Opeth songs I don't like although I'm still having trouble digesting Morningrise. I had trouble with MYAH, but now I love it. I guess it'll grow on me soon.

i see a lot of people have by the pain i see in others in their lists. at first i couldnt stand that song cuz it was so weird. after a couple of listens, i actually think its the best song on that album.
well, if i had to pick top five, well i cant really cuz idk the songs by name...i just put the cd in :|

1)Patterns in the Ivy (only opeth song I dont like)
2)Weakness (can't get into this one too often)
3)Master's Appertice (too monochromatic, though it picks up at the end
4)By the Pain I See in Others
5)Drapery Falls (very good song, except that intro/ outro goes on for way to long)
