The collapse of metal is imminent

yea... I'm startin to see that when all these people in the business start saying 2 bands "Oh well we can't sign you, because honestly your stuff won't sell here. It's just not.... oomph ya know?"

I'm pissed off when I hear that cuz music isn't made for selling. I'm sure whoever first started music had no intent whatsoever of marketing music.

Well,I've never bought as many CD's in my life as when I started getting MP3's off the internet.

If anything it has introduced me to more music that I want to own the CD's of.

The 12 year old getting sued is disgusting.

Like someone said here.

Record companies don't sell music, they sell CD's.

some Music is an Art
CD's and manufactured "music" are for making money.

I bet more than a few of you would have a problem with some of my cd's here, but since converstaion is gettin stiff and we're all coming to a general conclusion about the music industry, I'm gonna post em here so pplz can see what I listen to. wanna do the same? go ahead :)

**MORE STUFF ON COMPUTER**

My music tastes are very diversified and most people aren't gonna like even half of em, but thats kool. I labeled Hammerfall as power metal because I didnt wanna make my own category section for it. Killswitch Engage is Emo HxC, as said on their homepage, but I just lumped em into the black metal category... ok what is CoB then?

NocturnalSun said:
yea, just take a look in the topic about "would you rather download songs or buy the cd". in there some pplz just blow off this whole fact and say "Fuck cd's. I'll never buy em, mp3's all the way!"

now ain't that some bullshit
Buy the cd. There's something about buying a disc on release date & the ritual that goes along with it. From tearing through the wrapper & busting the seal, then popping it into your system. Looking through the liners, ect. You can't beat that. There's really not that much "good" music out there so I don't know what these people are spending their money on if ther are downloading everything? What's next, trying to bum rush the gates to get into a free gig?! Anyway. The music business, fucked the fans by over charging for cd's for several years & I think it has caught up with them. Me, I prefer to buy the music as it was intended, packaging, ect. That's just my thoughts on this.

Wes is not entirely stupid but he includes every music genre into that merging and destroy factor and that's dumb.

Jazz still sells as good as it used to be and there's nothing like owning the cd,the same with funk, blues and classical music. He can't get his head out of his ass and blame it all on MTV,which by the way gave him a voice because if it wasn't for MTV he'd be a simple grumpy guy.

I download songs to check out the band,I donwload 3 or 4;if I don't like it I don't go waste my money on it and instead go with the "sure" ones like Kreator or Dismember, who I know won't disappoint me cause they kick ass.

He was part of one of the "sure shots" on music business so I don't see why he complains,he's already rich, maybe he's becoming like Lars and James wanting even more money.

I am very metal ffanatic but I would be even more metal if I had some of your cds;so...give em to me please heheh

i buy more cd's due to downloading...heres how it works for me

i download a song

if i like it, i download another by the same band, on the same album, and if i like 3 songs on an album, i will go buy the cd at best buy shortly after.

i have found some of my now favorite bands by downloading, without downloading, i would probably bought 1 or 2 cds this year, instead i have bought closer to 15.. therefore, i think underground bands benefit from mp3's.

and cd prices at best buy are very reasonable, yesterday i bought iced earth dark saga for only 12.99, and they had double albums that were in the 14-18 dollar range! which i find extreemly reasonable!
