The Dark Knight

Alrighty, so I got back from the movie. It was definitely good stuff, but for some reason my attention wasn't all there. What I really liked about it tho was that there was a lot of...umm...social philosophy in it. Like the whole anarchy and chaos thing that the Joker was trying to get at. My favorite line was when he says, "to live sensibly in this world, you can't have rules" or something like that. and then when he was talking to Harvey Dent he gave an example of how we all run around screaming if the mayor is going to die, but we don't give a rats ass if the victims were like gang members or something.

So yeah, Ledger did an awesome job. But the way you guys were talking about it, I expected more. But I am with Heartless when he says that NOW he mourns the loss of such a great actor. I didn't know Heath had this in him, so I was pretty impressed. Didn't think it'd be his type of role, but he played it well.

And as for Christian Bale...well, I see what you are saying about the socialite thing now. But still, I don't think he's well suited to play Batman. I mean, he gets the job done, yeah.....but....Michael Keaton ftw.

Are you kidding? Christian Bale is one of the best actors alive today imo, period. The Machinist alone is evidence of how epic that man truly is. His roles in American Psycho is also insane, along with Batman Begins, I think he's brilliant. I put him on the same plateau as Nicholson, Deniro, Pacino, Norton, etc...

YES !!!!!!

HE'S THE BEST ACTOR NOWADAYS ! THANX !

For those who claims he always plays the same, just take a lot at ALL his movies ! cuz he does a lot of independant movies. In "the Empire of the Sun" he's just a kid and his performance is AMAZING !

Fuck I have to wait the 13th of august to see The Dark Night !

I really liked Michael Keaton as Batman. I don't think I will be let down by Christian Bale though, most reviews of his performance are positive. I can't wait! Seeing it tomorrow.

The movie has already topped Spiderman 3 at the box office with 155.3M. Pretty fucking amazing and I think the movie definitely deserved it.

why do all these superficial movies make the most at the box office? I think that just shows how stupid our culture has come to become.
Movies that are truly good are the ones like Apocalypse Now and Lost in Translation. Like movies that have some essence to them, and aren't just all "hollywood" if that makes any sense.

spiderman sucks ass btw.

i like more "deeper" movies like saw
on first view it's all about killing, the more blood the better, and some deaths are pretty funny too imo
but the story behind it is what interests me

"requiem for a dream" is still my favourite movie

funny how you put both Saw and Requiem For a Dream in this same post.
