you know, saving the world?

ooooh, that topic! no wonder i missed it, i stopped reading fireangel's posts before replying months ago. :p

@undocontrol: i also didn't read the story game thread, but i'm not surprised i'm being mentioned there, what with being a librarian and a translator, and being appointed by all those noble-prize winners to do something to save the world from big companies. can you say "moloch"? well, i can.

Yeah, read it, its hillarious. Well, funny in a way. :D

i see i lost a few matches against eddie murphy, yoda, and a considerable amount of assorted wildlife before finally making my appearance. :p i'll follow your misadventures more closely from now on, but i suggest adding a pineapple fixation to my character. ;)

They indeed interfere nicely with each other. I know many a politicians who were made happy by this kind of interaction.

yep, corruption :D

UndoControl: No, I didn´t read the story game thread, I´m too busy saving the world from free-market supporters ;)

rahvin: I never had the impression you read my posts before replying ever. But surprisingly also not of your best friend hyena in this case, otherwise you wouldn´t have missed the_topic :p

Saving the world from free-market promoters? Even if youre being sarcastic, youre nuts. Yeah, a combination of state controlled and free market economy, why not, but this way: state: good laws and making sure they apply to all, free market: the rest.

I`m not talking about communism. What you just wrote, I posted a short while ago while talking to hyena (social market economy for you) Don´t try to imitate rahvin´s not-reading-fireangel´s-post mode, you´re missing too much information and write weird replies, as I assume you wanted to seriously take part in this debate.

NE (now emo): I found out my exgirlfriend is no longer fucking/an item with my exchildhoodfriend. I haven't spoken to her in about 8 months now, and I am really tempted now.

Yeah I love her and all that emo jazz, but really I just want her to see that I've moved on... I'm over estimating her though I think, she'd be far too immature to meet up for a "chat". No doubt she's grown to fear me (from no reputation of mine, she just knows how the world works...)

I somehow have the impression that neither companies only or governments only do economics very well. No completely free market, thanks. I don´t think that life would be so cool if only companies ruled (I mean, more than they are already doing nowadays). So if you include both sides, it´s supposed to bring the least damage, because they nicely interfere with each other.

Was it this? Well, you really are confused. You didnt post anything what I wrote, if by that you dont mean your vague notion of "nice interference". I am not talking about social market economy, I dont want state to interfere at all, when economic desicions are concerned. All I want from the state is just laws and just executive power. I dont think they nicely interfere with each other, state is the worst manager/householder imo. What I would like the state to be is just parliament, government, judiciary and police.

I had a boring day, nothing to do, didn't sleep well, it was foggy and dark outside all day, just a kind of day that makes you feel sad and tired without you even do anyting.

Just think about how great it's gonna be in five days...:) then you'll feel better.

@Hitori: congratulations and best wishes for your new job! hope it becomes permanent if that's what you wish! :)

NF: a bit weirded out. today was my first encounter with real stalkers. i suppose they weren't really my stalkers since my friend is much more impressive than me, but nevertheless they stalked my car. i ended up making rounds around the same block to see just how stupid they were. :p

Hitori: Good to know. Best wishes. :)

rahvin: Do read it. It's one of the best threads around. And i'll remember to mention your pineapple fixation next time i write there. ;)

firangel: No, no... rahvin should read the story game thread, and you should read Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy. :D

KC: Just don't get obsessed and everything will be fine. :)

Dark_Silence: I know how it feels. :( I hope tomorrow's a better day for you. (It's 16:33 over here, which means it should be 22:33 or 23:33 where you live, so maybe you can go to sleep early and wake up to a better day tomorrow..?) And... what RampageSword said. :)

Siren: So how stupid were they?

NF: Alright... not much to do, going to uni tomorrow to see about some shit i've got to do before starting second semester, been playing Civilization II ever since i woke up and finished taking a shower, probably going to keep doing Civ II, internet and some reading through the whole (unproductive.. or is it 'improductive'?) day... oh, and i've got to go to the supermarket.

@undies: I think it's unproductive.
Considering that they should have figured when i started going around the block (because of the direction i was taking for the previous x Kms and the general construction of the area), and seeing as they followed me for one full round, i'd say quite stupid.
Then they passed me by (i was going relatively slow and so far they were stuck behind me), made a turn and then stopped, so:
a) either they got pissed off
b) or they got embarrassed
c) or they were so utterly stupid that they thought i would follow.

NF: Happy to have gotten new DT stuff (thanx, Nico!). Worried that two hours of sleep or less are going to turn me into a zombie tomorrow, but i suppose it'll be a good day, what with a genomics course i'll see if i can take and whatnot.

Phone call and everything gets OK :p ... Nah today seems to be a better day although the weather outside is still crappy... but we may get some snow on Thursday :)
