the election, and stuff..

I see the Liberals got fucking caned in Tasmania and SA, the Democrats got owned and the Greens are on the verge of being wiped out politically at a state level in Tassie. Now that the new IR laws have effectively made the workplace a police state, Teflon John's finally been caught with his pants down over wheat exports and Telstra is now admitting to cutting services to protect its shareholders, I can only hope that Federal Labor can get its shit together in time for 2008.

Kevin Rudd will save the day. He has to, he's our only hope. Even Beattie wouldn't stand a chance unless he somehow makes Queensland forget about all his hijinx here.

in case anyone construes my last statement as a "lesser of two evils" argument.

the lesser of two evils is STILL evil.

Hehe I wonder what prompted this. :)

Labor has shot itself in the foot so many times it's ridiculous. It doesn't matter though, because JH can do what he wants and still get voted back in.

Right, I'm going to go change a light bulb.

I'm afraid you could be right there, Rob. We need a serious, unarmed uprising from the workers' movement. Like Eureka without the bloodshed or the Razorback truck blockade (anyone here remember that?). But anything like that can be construed as terrorism now, so I guess we're just stuck with it. I wonder what will be inside Room 101 for me?

It is the modern Governments way of keeping it's people controlled, the excuse of terrorism is too easily slapped on everything, and you will never see a strong enough rise in the workers or anyone else, so long as they keep removing medicare, and any security net that SHOULD BE PROVIDED to those who require it, not the lazy fucks who feel they deserve it, because we are too busy working too fucking hard to rise in any real shape or form.

And while the Government runs ALL forms of news media like the puppets they have become we are fucked

You've reminded me how much Howard fucking loves terrorism. September 11 was the best thing that ever happened to him. He might not be in govt now if it wasn't for that.

That's the truth... I remember him saying that he wasn't sure when an election would happen. September 11 happens and then all of the sudden, we've got an election!

A scared voter is a "smart" voter

State-wise I'm still a Labor supporter (although I did help Nick Xenophon strengthen his position in the upper house). Federally speaking, Beazley won't get an ounce of support from me. When the ALP sort themselves out and get a leader I can take seriously, I might change my mind. Julia Gillard is the woman for the job if'n y'ask me.
