I just find it funny, because everyone has this image in their head of a metalhead, and face to face with most of us in a normal everyday discussion/arguement we would likely intellectually bitch-slap them.

Indeed. There's this one kid who thinks he's all smart and he thinks I'm some headbanging dumbass because of my prominent love of metal, but in arguments/debates, I kick his ass to the ground.
