the hate thread

I hate that my 10-year high school reunion is coming up. Not only does it signify that I'm getting old, it also means I have to see at least 8 people that I'd prefer NOT encountering for the rest of my life.

I probably wont attend mine either. fuck high school. everyone I went to school with either turned their backs on me or was a complete dickhead.

hahaha, I hated highschool with a passion. such bullshit

well get this...when I first entered high school, lots of stoners. gateway into music I am into now. most of them mocked me cause I was autistic nerd just getting his feet wet, figuratively speaking. I loved music, to the point of annoyance. then there were all the jocks who picked on me and treated me like shit. I didn't really make any new friends until late junior year/early senior year, but by then it was too late. I had fun, but all my friends moved away. then I attended a vocational school under the Option 23 program (which is when you attend a career school after graduation, mostly people who do this are learning disabled kids like myself). I was a few years older than most of the kids there. first year wasn't all that bad, save for a few confrontations. second year was hell. I dropped Business class for Digital Design and had to be in a class which was a mix of preppy kids and wannabe stoners. they hated me and I hated them. When that was over, I was glad to be out. yeah, fuck school.

Yeah, but there are some people, good friends I haven't seen in a while that I want to see and :kickass: with. Otherwise I wouldn't go.

Isis.

Inferior to Neurosis, without the intensity of Cult of Luna, without the majesty of Opeth or the beauty of Agalloch. Or as cerebral as (older) Tool. In particular, the new Agalloch album shows up Isis badly. Not that they're exactly the same, but in terms of creating these sweeping epic soundscapes that shift subtly, Agalloch leaves them for dead.

I can't tolerate the vocals at all, I think they're too abrasive for the music and expressionless. The drumming sounds too tinny (again compare to Agalloch) and they are just plain boring.

I couldn't disagree more. I just saw Isis live last week, and they were intense as fuck. The fact that they don't have that whole grandiose majestic thing going on in their sound is why I like them. I can't get into Agalloch at all. They choose bland chord progressions and time signatures, and end up sounding boring and cheesy.

I kinda feel bad for you bro.

it's pretty much the same here, I was very cool with the overwhelming majority of people in the school

I had pretty much 95% of the high school team on my cellphone, I was friends with the star running back/linebackers starting from 8th grade in middle school

I still see some of the jacks, and i'm good friends with them (lot of them look pretty bad now as they have gained alot of fat however)
