The 'Little/Stupid Things That Irritate You' Thread

Threads which are created with the sole purpose of complaining about something... :p

Smokers blowing their smoke in others faces- If you wanna kill yourself that's fine, but spare others please... AND PUT YOUR CIGARETTE IN THE BIN!!!

A lack of manners.

Littering again.

Impatient drivers.

People for whom swearing comprises 50% of their vocabulary.

Guys who don't treat girls with respect.

Girls who complain that no guys treat them like ladies these days, but they don't act like ladies...

People who bash Dream Theater because its all of a sudden cool to bash Dream Theater... :heh:

Bad/shorthand/sms/interwebz grammar.

Solo instrumental artists who try to sing on a couple of songs on their album.

I'm sure I'll come up with some more later...

- People who groom themselves in public. I'm not talking a quick run-through of the hair with a comb, I mean people who clip their fingernails, floss, etc. Gross!

Hahaha... :D There was a guy at my dads work who got fired for doing stuff like that. He was doing things like brushing his teeth at work and getting changed in the bathroom and washing his hair in the sink or something stupid like that.

This is a good list

How do you mean? I do it all the time but I assume people realize I can only speak from my own point of things. Actually I kind of get off on people who always write "in my opinion" and "IMO" all the time, like what they had written could be anything but their own opinion unless otherwise stated.

What I mean is, people acting like their opinions of things are always right (they are facts) and people thinking otherwise are simply wrong. People who that "*Band x* fucking sucks, fact. You can't even compare it to *band y*".

I hate it when people act like that seriously, like their music taste (or anything else) is superior.

Isn't saying that "I don't like that band at all" enough? These people seem to have to add that "They are shit, always been shit, everyone who listen's to them hasn't heard real music".

I like or understand most of these but please splain the left side of the escalator thing ? Passing lane ? Lord did I love running up and down them two steps at a time, was like superman... LOL

I dont like to see a woman doing her face in the rearview mirror while driving, gotta be as bad a cell phones

I think it might be a city thing, hahahah. Here, it's proper etiquette to stand on the right side of the escalator, but if you want to walk, you do so on the left side. It's most common to do that on the subway, but it's seen all over the place here, like in offices and department stores. When people choose to stand on the left side it sucks because walking up is faster and it can mean the difference between making a train or missing it.

Doesn't Garfield hate raisins...seem to remember him picking them out of his cereal and putting them into a drawer :) The comic strip version, not that awful CG crap ;)

I don't like Garfield either :\. Add that one to the list for me.

Well I guess I'm a little in between then. I say "it's shit" period and then I really don't care that much about it anymore. Bands are a matter of taste so you can't really change anybody's mind about them so you might as well be blunt and done with it.

However is somebody responds like "no... they're not.. cuz I don't think so" or they try to persuade me otherwise (even if they do it innocently), then that's a thing that's on my "Little/Stupid Things That Irritate You".

-People that know nothing about music and try to make you believe bands like Dragonforce are the shit.

I had to deal with those a lot lately. Two days ago, some junkies told me Herman Li was in the top 5 guitarists in the world. ''Man, he's so fast with his fingers. He must be the best out there.'' I patiently tried to explain that there were thousands of guys faster than this dude (and more accurate) and that a lot of them actually played music. They suddenly stopped talking to me.

Yesterday, I was told at a music festival that I would never be good if I couldn't play Through the fire and flames. I didn't respond but I thought, 'You're right bro. I can't learn sped up solos. That's beyond me.'

- Musicians that are convinced (and are glad to tell you) they're better than anybody.

They all suck, expect for Malmsteen, maybe.

Things like Big Brother really get on my tits. Do you get that in the states? It's where a bunch of nobodies hang out in a house and do fuck-all, and the idiots that watch it have to vote people out of the house. Since when did that qualify as entertainment? What the fuck?!

Oh yeah... Pop Idol is another one. Simon Cowell is a tosspot of biblical proportions. I'd do time for that fucker :heh:

Well... I console myself with the knowledge that it's something I can act on... like turn the sodding tv off...

Dude... America IS one giant reality TV shit fest! It's actually kind of scary. Fortunately, because of it I have been put off of TV almost altogether. How do people watch that stuff? I don't understand..

I love Garfield

Littering is a biggy for me, and my buddy Joe who is my drummer, one time we were going somewhere for a concert, Todd our bass player was with us, well there was some empties in the car and we stopped to leak, Todd says "let me get rid of those beer bottles" and throws them out on the shoulder... Joe and I made him pick them up and put them back in the car...... lol!

I think I have watched like 10 minutes of 3 reality shows in my life and that was because I sat there dumbfounded thinking you have got to be kidding me !

SX and UM forums are far superior :headbang:

8. Nationalism. Esp. "God Bless America, etc."

Agreed. I cringe at the sound of any of those awful, feel-good USA songs. God Bless America, The National Anthem, America the Beautiful, Star Spangled Banner, Stars and Stripes Forever, etc.

A few of my gripes:

1. Obesity.
2. Overweight folks in revealing clothing.
3. Overweight kids. A sickening sight on so many levels.
4. Parents who contribute to their fat kid's unhealthy lifestyle. This should be viewed as a form of child neglect and there should be consequences.
5. Gangs.
6. Dogs in purses.
7. Special parking for "Expecting Mothers."
8. Poor tippers. This is epidemic.
9. Hummers(the automobiles)
10. Affirmative Action.
11. Minimum requirements to obtain a driver's license. This should be cracked down on.
12. Little kids with cell phones.
13. Blackberry's.
14. Motorcycles with purposely loud pipes. Nobody gives a shit how loud you are.
15. Cigarettes, cigarettes, cigarettes. Hasn't this shit run it's course yet?

Fuck, this was mostly from just looking out my bedroom window.

And a few more:

1. Road construction. Illinois has got to be one of the worst states for this.
2. Jack Black
3. Entertainers getting involved in politics.
4. Women who abuse the word "fiancee." My fiancee this, my fiancee that. Shut it the fuck down.
5. Folks who pull their mini vans into a parking lot and then proceed to empty out the contents of said vehicle into the parking lot. This mess typically consists of: dirty diapers, fast food debris, empty cigarette boxes, beer cans, etc.

that's interesting, in Aus it's the other side, you stand on the left and pass on the right.. maybe its origins are to do with road rules?

my annoyances..

1. people who eat too loudly or with their mouth open
2. guys who complain they can't get girls because 'they're too nice' when in fact it's really because they're just creepy and manipulative.
3. people who walk too slow down the street and hog up all the sidewalk so you can't pass.
4. here in Melbourne, cars that don't stop when the tram is stopping and people are trying to get out onto the road to get said tram (not only is it rude its very dangerous)
5. similarly, cars that speed up to get around a corner at a pedestrian crossing when people are crossing the road (also very rude and dangerous)
6. people who like to power trip
