The Official Heathen Crusade Thread

I think it actually has something to do with Slough Feg as well. Like, they'll play live, but Hammers will not be. Let Ali explain it though.

OK so:

1 - I agree that Hammers crushed Slough Feg (based on seeing one show from each) AND they have a real CULT following. The New York crowd were literally crying and tearing their eyes out when Hammers played, no shit. :tickled: Lurch took pictures as evidence.

2 - According to the long assed interview I did with Scalzi (if you guys remember the thread here), it was he that told me JOHN COBBETT no longer wanted to tour with the Hammers. That doesn't bode well.

However, money talks and bullshit walks. There is NO DOUBT that if we're making the effort for the "Royal Carnage fest" that the Hammers of Misfortune will not be solicited in every way for a trip to the big apple. It's really just a case of persuading Cobbet.

The good news is, Cobbet's brother lives in New York so we could pay for him to come over and visit family & friends, and oh yeah, play a 30 minute set with the rest of his band.

Quoting Furious B: "November’s Doom:

The relationship I have with this band is odd. I think they are a GOOD band. I really can’t get too into them however and I’m not sure why. I have The Knowing[I/] and it just hasn’t really grabbed my attention. I may give it another spin soon though. I will say that these guys are pros. They know what they’re doing and were tight and sounded really sharp as everything came out clear as a bell in the mix. The vocalist is a presence as he is huge and his hair is down to his ass. They had some parts that rocked my ass so I’ll give them a few more chances."

Thanks for the compliments and giving us a chance just yet. My personal suggestion is that if you were able to appreciate the live show moreso than "The Knowing" then you ought to perhaps give our latest cd "The Pale Haunt Departure" a few spins, as it's where most of our setlist was drawn from, and is much more aggressive and powerful than our previous cds. As is well known around here by some, I'm not a huge fan of "The Knowing" myself, as it does have it's place, but we don't even play one song from that album live anymore! Anyhow, find someone to burn it for you or download some tunes from "TPHD" cd and give it a shot, maybe it'll keep your interest better, hopefully. Thanks.

p.s. Keep us posted if a Royal Carnage fest does wind up occurring, guys!

By the way, to all the RC folks I met this weekend; FuriousB, Black Water Nymph, CT_Thrash, Reign in Acai and whoever else I'm forgetting to mention (you know who you are)... you people fucking rock.

Larry, just don't lose "Awaken" from your setlists. It's not only a great ND track, it's a great track period. It's a defining moment and Paul agrees!!!
