ok ... you meant with all included ... it sounded like they got paid $7k plus all expenses ...
that makes sense then

LOL, you quoted this from me:
Moonsorrow cost roughly $7000 + hotel rooms + tour rider/food (that price included their flights, if their drummer is to be believed)

6 people would also require 3 hotel rooms for 2 nights each @ ballpark $150/night (around here, at least). That's another $900, plus food & rider.

So figure only 3 bands from Europe would cost approximately $20K best guess. The other 4-5 bands would need to be able to be taken care of for at most only another $8-$10K.

And THAT doesn't even include domestic costs or renting the hall!

1000 tickets (hugely optimistic) @ $50/ticket = $50,000

That's what we'd need to do, and we can pull this off.

well, things can come out somewhat even in some ways ... being that NY is cheaper to fly to then Minnesota ... especially coming from Europe ... that price would probably offset the hotel room costs .. although there are plenty of hotels in the boroughs that are good and reasonably priced.

but yeah ... $40-$50 a pop for tickets ... plus some show specific merchandise ... + bar money ... and this can be doable.

what's strange about that

with my 7 mpix camera, one pic takes almost 1 Mb

I have my camera set to the 2nd-highest resolution, which means pics are prolly in the 3.5-4mpix range (each one was roughly 400-600kb). BUT, I cropped some, resized them ALL to 640x480, which put them all around 85-120kb.

Yep, still 8MB. Do the math.

Totally. I'm finding out real fast though that it's tough to get bands who are both A) names that will draw, B) affordable, and C) somewhat unique to make the fest unique.

last time, when we saw him at the Slough Feg show ... he seemed the road warrior. this was where my "play for a bed" comment cam from. he said something to that nature ... as he digs playing out ... or maybe he got fed up with it by now.

I think it actually has something to do with Slough Feg as well. Like, they'll play live, but Hammers will not be. Let Ali explain it though.

hmmm ... that is the wrong move then IMHO ... Hammers totally crush live compared to Slough Feg

Fucking hell, this thread rules too. Furious B, I likey those group shots there. The one with me and Mark headbanging is hilarious. I think you can see my 1" hair actually moving. :loco:

The guitar player broke a string and fixed it in like 2 minutes during the middle of the song. It was funny because he looked like “ah, whatever” and just did it.

I did not even notice this during Primordial. By the way, Jason and I were just a few feet from the front of the center stage, in complete awe of Nemtheanga. A fight could have broken out and I wouldn't have noticed.

Actually, a fight DID break out. Some of the Mexicans got into a rumble over some chick lol.
