You know people (READ: WOMEN) only see what you let them see. If you talk the way you are right now, you come off as a pathetic, self-conscious guy that no girl will ever want. Have confidence, like yourself, forget your faults and play your strengths. Life is too short to worry about dumb bullshit. If you like someone and they don't like you, move on. Not worth suffering and dwelling on the past, it will take your a couple weeks but move past it. You are in control man. Only you can let things bother you. Take my advice, seriously.

Couldn't have said better myself. I've had a hard time applying this to my life, I acknowledged it and knew it would help, but I never got around to actually doing it.

That's perfectly said, and that's really the best thing to do; but as we all know here, that's not that easy to clean your mind from somebody you're with since years.
Strange as you can talk about war, disasters, oppression, satanism, anything you want, bad-ending love stories problems are the only topic that anyone lived at least once and feels concerned about.
