Didn't mean to suggest cutting off at 500, just happened to be where #6 out of 5 went for me. At first I was thinking under 1000 and a list of 10 but lost the plot a bit.

There's also Burial of the Rats with only 429 ratings, not quite a favourite but still hugely entertaining.

yeah i just decided on that arbitrary cut-off point tbh. i'd highly recommend both 'when pigs fly' and 'candy mountain' to fans of early jarmusch, the former is directed by his wife. and 'romancing in thin air' is my favourite chinese movie ever, as great as meta-cinema can get.

Pomegranate Tiger - I'd still be WTFing if someone hadn't pointed out that Dalí put these two items in a painting based on a surreal dream, albeit with a rockfish in between. Otherwise it'd be one desperate tiger who resorted to eating pomegranates. I imagine it'd be a bit like biting a piñata. The band's original name was arguably even sillier: Rock-a-saurus Rex.
