The Top 5 List Thread

Top 5 Shining tracks

1. Yttligare ett steg närmare total jävla utfrysning
2. Besvikelsens dystra monotoni
3. Submit to Self-Destruction
4. Neka morgondagen
5. Vilja & dröm

Top 5 Jet Li films:
  1. Fist of Legend
  2. Once Upon a Time in China
  3. Once Upon a Time in China 3
  4. Black Mask
  5. The New Legend of Shaolin
This is just from distant memory, I don't think I've watched any of those in the past 15 years:

1. Tai Chi Master
2. Fist of Legend
3. Fong Sai Yuk
4. Once Upon a Time in China
5. The Shaolin Temple

This brings back memories, my big brother were huge into hong kong action when we were teens, so I've watched quite alot of them.
Kinda feel like watching some old school hong kong movies now. @CASSETTEISGOD have you watched Zu Warriors From the Magic Mountain? Kind of feel like it could be up your alley.

BTW, speaking of collections, when I get home (away on a business trip) and have the time, some comic book collection pics incoming. :p

Top 5 music genres I need in my life:
  1. Trance (yes, I'm a traitor - this is closest to the soundtrack of my life though)
  2. Metal (my animal spirit still lives here at least, along with some of my highest ideals)
  3. Acoustic ambient (still feel the need to lose myself in pure atmosphere - I alternate between gothic stuff like Arcana and eastern stuff like Anoushka Shankar)
  4. Prog rock (cause I still crave that high-concept adventure once in a while)
  5. Stoner rock (encompasses Clutch and Grails, which are both vital to me, and the occasional foray into 60s shit like Ten Years After when I need that vibe)

Following TB's lead on the metal subgenres:
  1. Traditional (especially NWOBHM)
  2. Prog/Symphonic (seems fair to group these together)
  3. Thrash (purely big 4 and Death Angel here)
  4. Stoner
  5. Black

i think it's a typo, although i can't find any evidence to back that up atm.

people either seem to think 'free man' is totally incredible or one of the worst on the album in my experience. i guess it treads the line of sentimentality, it totally works for me though.

yeah, i always assumed as much, but you'd think they'd correct it on a reissue or something. maybe they have idk

i kind of regret not listing 'angel of death' now i'm listening to it. it used to be easy top 3 for me and then i went through a phase of not liking it so much, but it's sounding great to me right now. maybe not top 3 good but listworthy.

Free Man is second-from-bottom in my autistic song ranking list and I forget how it goes from memory. Confused, bottom on the list, has grown on me so Free Man might actually be the bottom song. Still have it at a 3.5/5 though, whole album is pretty damn great.
