Two things I found moderately funny:

1) A 10 or 11 year old student suddenly said in a class yesterday to nobody in particular, "Eric sensei, kowai-yo." Apparently he thinks I'm very scary.

2) I was teaching the idiom "dish out" as in, verbal abuse. I asked a middle aged house wife to verbally abuse me. She said, "You're stupid...toka (for example). I'm sorry. Gomen nasai! (I'm very sorry)." And, of course, she started bowing. I laughed and said, "You're so Japanese." She seemed a little confused by that and just agreed that, yes, she was.
