I worked at a store that sold them for 6 years. Waste of money IMO. You're better off getting an in ground because the resale is better. However, they are way more expensive.

Well I'd love to get an in ground pool but I'm renting and I can't just go and dig a giant hole in our courtyard. I had an above ground pool at my last place and it was awesome in the super hot months. It's not for snorkelling or playing games in, it's for drinking beer and cocktails in and immersing myself in after work when it's 40 degrees and I've spent the day sweating my whole body weight.

I am not trying to be rebellious. This school is basically a psychological torture chamber. Don't they know how much pain this shit can cause people?

Then be rebellious. You don't have to do it outright (which given what you've said prior doesn't fit you anyhow), but don't internalize disillusionment. Just consciously disagree with the situation, realize you have no say in it and have to sit it out until its over, and get through it.

This is actually the best idea you could have. Make sure to befriend those who volunteer at the school paper also, so that you can unleash your masterpiece without dissent.
