things you hate with a passion

Well if there's any drug that deserves to be wiped from the face of the earth, it's tobacco, but bans in general are pretty stupid. I think they'd do better to require the owners of non-residential buildings to get a license before smoking is allowed in them, and then make it possible for the license to get revoked if the owners are not taking sufficient measures to ensure the safety of non-smokers who go in there.

I am interested in the argument that it's not tobacco in a natural state that is the problem, but the the massive amount of chemical treatments during growing and the tons of chemicals added to cigarettes that make them such a health hazard.

But still, no one likes smelling like a chimney.

Being addicted to any substance that requires inhaling smoke in order to achieve the desired effect is a health hazard by default, I'm pretty sure.

Why would I want to ban alcohol?

Far as I can tell there's little wrong with the alcohol laws we have now, aside from the legal age which should be 18 or 19. It's probably a good thing that drinking in public isn't allowed in most places, and the license system for selling it seems like a good thing too. One of the few drugs we have an even remotely sensible set of laws for.

While it's true that a lot of smokers are inconsiderate, to label all smokers as Evil because of the behaviour of a few just illustrates my point.

I know people who smoke who woul never have smoked in a public place around none smokers.
What gets to me is the non-smokers who will walk half a mile to get to the designated smoking area (best example being terminal 1 in Heathrow), just to cough and look annoyed

Apparently you nothing about English.

Cool, a grammar nazi. What did I do wrong? Incomplete sentence? Incorrect use of a pronoun? Improper verb tense? Please, guide me with your red correcting pen of enlightenment.

I didn't say it was the only drug that deserves to be wiped off the earth.

Fair enough, though I think getting rid of meth is definitely a higher priority. I think a drug that causes heinous crime (physical and sexual abuse of children for example) as opposed to the standard addict behavior of theft and simple assault is more dangerous than a substance that smells bad and increases carbon levels in the atmosphere.

Start again them!

Quiotting smoking is nothing to be proud of, it's just a sign of weakness and shows you've been fooled by all this anti smoking propoganda.
Nah it's more of the fact that my allergies were becoming worse because of the cigarettes and i'd wake up in the middle of the night and couldn't breathe. Ill take weed over cigarettes anyday, at least it does something worthwhile and is harmless.
