things you hate with a passion

I never recommended you anything by them in the end because I don't like them that much lol. I just know that song.

You take pride in being with the times but you seem to be lost in the 1700's somewhere.

There are a great many cunts in Britain, but most Americans are full of bullshit that was set about in rebelling against Britain. The problem is you're a bit of a retard if you can't see how ridiculous that is nowadays.

What, seriously, in the fuck, are you talking about? Do your opinions on Americans come exclusively from TV shows and meeting random people on the street or something?

I think the reason that British and Americans think of each other as snobbish is because the only people who get any press are the assholes. No one's going to remember the people who think the other nation is okay. I would bet that people who are at the very least indifferent to the other nation are in the majority. We also have stupid arguments about spelling and names. Like any current British person had any say in naming it Newcastle upon Tyne or decided to leave the u in words like colour.

Actually the general perception of Americans up here wasn't gathered from the show's results. Rather it was here already, and the show was done to see if we could find some truth as well as humour in it. We just get bored over here in Canada with nothing to do, living in our igloos in year-long winters. :)

Well there's a Kingston in the London area. Obviously that isn't upon the Humber estuary though, so at the time when Hull actually got called Kingston, that would have separated the two places.

I'll say it again, if Americans still think it makes sense to appear to rebel against Britain when a lot of British people wish their government would grow some balls and tell america to go to hell, then well....

It's hardly pretending to be something that it is not.

American cities are named after ones that already exist somewhere else, by the colonists. That could be said to be pretentious.

I really, really hate American names for things. The whole American attitude towards elitism and freedom is to do with Britain basically, and that is ridiculous, considering the times. You need to get a grip.

same with Ireland then?

so send money to the IRA so they can kill random people like a typical American retard with his head well an truly entrenched in Hollywood's shitty backside.

Also if the Scottish kicked Britain's ass the the scotts would have very sorry bottoms indeed.

Anyway so fuck America. You like shortening things and simplifying things. Simple people simplify.

@ Omni
I would expect no less of the average Brit.

Every American I've met has started off, without me even saying anything, implying that I'm pretentious somehow or going against someone's freedom somehow.

You take pride in being with the times but you seem to be lost in the 1700's somewhere.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I didn't think you were this stupid, jage. Surely you aren't influenced solely by your TV shows?

I get a chuckle out of the over top shit said like that in "How I Met Your Mother".

Robin is always making hockey, moose, mounty comments etc etc. Clearly American fun-poking at Canada. Unfortunately some people probably think it's funny because they think it is true.

You have Thoreau and Emerson to thank for that. The British, on the other hand, use far more words than necessary to describe a glen; we have Wordsworth to thank for that.

I don't have anything against the British. Tons of them come to Florida, and most of the ones that I've met have been very polite and friendly people. The ones that I was talking about earlier are just a good example of people who are clearly faggots and can't accept the fact that the Revolutionary War was over 300 years ago. I was just making it clear that not only Americans act that way, and I've actually never met any Americans who do.

Really, seriously, verily... true. Well said.

I dislike the British [empire] for the same reasons I dislike the current American [empire]. The difference is the pretentious sounding overtones on all British stuff, add on top of it all the royalty bs.
tbh the British empire was way more honest and less hypocritical. They were just all "okay, we're gonna take everybody's shit. Fuck you all." And then they did. America is like "ahem...um...terrorists. Yeah. Terrorists. See! There! A Terrorist over by that oil field. We'd better occupy that oil field. Send in the troops"

That said, I don't believe in any current American empire and I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to such a thing because I don't personally give a shit about the intentions of our founding fathers and tbh I think there's some nations out there that would benefit from having a hundred thousand American troops up their asshole.

One of my native tongues is more complex than your language.
Nobody thinks you're cool. Shut the fuck up.

in Canada
Oh shit.
For some reason I've always thought you were in Eastern Europe.
Wtf?
I'm gonna be less forgiving of grammatical lapses and vampire bullshit from now on.

*Facepalm* He was saying americans bastardized the english language and that made them simple. I was trying to make the point that simplicity has nothing to do with the language one speaks. Which is why I also pointed out that Cherokee is more complicated than any currently spoken European language.

What I meant was that English is simple compared to other languages, and by measuring the simplicity of people by the simplicity of their language he is calling his own people simple.

I'm influenced by the three or four Americans I've met in real life as well.
