In this instance ohiogrinder is right. Real emo/screamo is very good. People are going to bash it based on the lame stuff that is popular now just like people bash metal based on Slipknot and Korn. It's really not worth worrying about.

My buddies' cousin plays in a screamo band called "the Sharktopus". Saw em live once playing an impromptu gig in a public park. The frontman was interesting to watch (did some impressive shit with the mic), but overall the music was pretty boring.
