Well I finally got it to work. It sounds a lot better than the rip, obviously. The drums stand out a lot in particular. This does, though, confirm that the song is not that great by Opeth standards. I thought maybe an awesome lead would pop out of nowhere in the album version, but I guess that was kind of stupid to hope. There does seem to be a shit-ton of stuff going on in the background, though. I think this Ghost Reveries might end up being more of a "headphones" kind of album than anything Opeth have done before. I just hope that the rest of the album fucking slays and the repetition is unique to this TGC.
