Do you come from the future? "Cannibalised" will be released at Feb 2008!

(I know, it has leaked ad you have listened to it, but you say the top 15 of 2007).

I went back to the future in my DeLorean of course to hear this.:heh:

Riverside - Rapid Eye Movement is number one, hands down.

Other stuff:

2. Quo Vadis - Live In Montreal (amazing)
3. Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone
4. Caspian - The Four Trees
5. Pagan's Mind - God's Equation
6. Circus Maximus - Isolate
7. Opeth - The Roundhouse Tapes
8. Mors Principium Est - Liberation = Termination
9. Dark Tranquillity - Fiction
10. The Absence - Riders of the Plague

Ithyphallic by Nile also deserves a mention.

Not a bad year but with new releases from Agalloch, Alarum, Anathema, Arsis, Augury, Atheist (live DVD, hopefully), Biomechanical, Gojira, Katatonia, Lykathea Aflame (hopefully, again), Mercenary, Nevermore (album, live DVD), Opeth, Orphaned Land, Quo Vadis, Warrel Dane and Wintersun next year, 2008 ought to beat 2007 by a huge margin. o_O

I honestly can't come up with a top 15 of 2007, but over the weekend I decided my top two for 2007:

2. Within Temptation - The Heart of Everything
1. Nightwish - Dark Passion Play

1. Thought Chamber - Angular Perceptions
2. Darkwater - Calling the Earth to Witness
3. Circus Maximus - Isolate
4. Symphony X - Paradise Lost
5. Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
6. Redemption - Origins of Ruin
7. Ted Leonard - Way Home
8. Pathosray - S/T
9. Kamelot - Ghost Opera
10. Threshold - Dead Reckoning

I haven't heard the new Riverside or Sieges Even, but from what I've heard about them, they'd likely be added to this list.

I did hear the Porcupine Tree and liked it for the most part, but I never really found myself dying to hear it, so I have a hard time adding it to a top list. For that matter, even the Threshold is a bit on the edge of not making the list.

I have to listen to the Pagan's Mind some more, but it didn't catch on with me yet.

I've never been much of a Kamelot fan, but found Ghost Opera to be quite enjoyable. I thought Black Halo had some good moments too, but not as a whole.

Pathosray took a couple of months to catch on because the mix/mastering drives my ears nuts, but after I finally got over the sound quality of the disk, I found that I really enjoy the songs. I'd love to hear it remixed and remastered though. Talk about pushing everything up WAY too much -- especially the cymbals!

USA Progressive Music staff members voted on their top 10 and it is posted on www.usaprogmusic.com

There are many albums that I know should be on this list that I have not gotten to listen to all the way through so I am not going to put these albums in any sort of order but from what I've listened to so far, my top list would be:

Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Kamelot - Ghost Opera
Circus Maximus - Isolate
Nightwish - Dark Passion Play (never liked Tarja, but I'm loving Anette! I've really worn this CD out in my car!)
Within Temptation - The Heart of Everything
Suspyre - A Great Divide
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
Amaran's Plight - Voice in the Light
Redemption - Origins of Ruin
Shaman - Immortal
Sonata Arctica - Unia (although not my favorite SA album)
Epica - A Divine Conspiracy
Threshold - Dead Reckoning

I would probably add the new "3" album on there except I've only heard a few of their new songs, and Pathosray album has a lot of good parts to it (intro keyboard part is awesome) but as a whole probably not in my top 15. And the new Helloween, Gamma Ray, and Icarus Witch have some decent songs on it but as a whole they get a bit cheesy after awhile, in my opinion.

1. Circus Maximus - Isolate
2. Anubis Gate - Andromeda Unchained
3. Darkwater - Calling the Earth to Witness

The rest:
Allen/Lande - The Revenge
Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Elvenking - The Scythe
Mind's Eye - Gentleman's Hurricane
Redemption - Origins of Ruin
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Nightwish - Dark Passion Play
Distorted - Memorial

no order

Pagan's Mind - Gods Equation
Circus Maximus - Isolate
Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Between the Buried and Me - Colors (saw them live 2 weeks ago, they played the whole album non stop. It was amazing)
After Forever - After Forever
Morgana Lefay - Aberrations of the Mind
Horse The Band - A Natural Death
The Dilinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
The Black Dhalia Murder - Nocturnal
Every Time I Die - The Big Dirty
Coheed and Cambria - No World For Tommorrow
Dethklok - Dethalbum
Chimera - Ressurection

Tied for number one is Coheed and BTBAM. Those are both albums in the true sense, as in you only get the real appreciation for them by listening to the whole thing

I'm starting to think I'm the only one that like the new Twilightning album.

My favorites of 2007 in random order:
Twilightning - Swinelords
Excalion - Waterlines
Sonata Arctica - Unia
Thunderstone - Evolution 4.0
Nightwishtheydidn'tkicktarjaout - Dark Passion Play
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
Visions of Atlantis - Trinity
Turisas - The Varangian Way
Circus Maximus - Isolate

I still haven't heard everything from 2007 though, so I'm sure there will be additions.
