YOB are one of my favorite bands. TGC is kinda different from their prior releases but still damn good. My two favs are Catharsis and The Unreal Never Lived.

Yep, remove his growls (which have grown a little forced as of late), and ye have GR. About to give it a 3rd whirl, really digging it.

At 4:50 it sounds extremely forced. I do like it though, but Opeth is known for easy transitions/flow and that was almost bad.

This link is much better quality. Not sure what to think. Mikael's vocal delivery is pretty horrid at times and great at others. This doesn't sound like Ghost Reveries, more like Watershed (Ghost Reveries was ass).

I'm pissed that I missed Yob when they were here a couple weeks ago...that could have been amazing. I've not heard The Great Cessation.

As for the Opeth track, I actually enjoy it. I didn't think I would, but it's pretty decent.

that Opeth track is pretty good. never really liked them but I like the repetition of the main riff. always a sucker for those things.
