This new Opeth album does deliver, it's like Akerfeldt felt it was safe this time to go for the "fuck it" approach and do the album he's been meaning to do for 10 years or so. Songs are deep and lots are left to discover for the next spin. The guitar fuzz took me aback for about five seconds then i realized it was the perfect sound for the enterprise at work. Not saying it's totally gaymazing, just as thoroughly enjoyable as it was unexpected (and needed after I gradually lost interest in the band since BWP).

And, yeah, no growls (finally!)

let's say it falls into place when you hear the bulk. The Devil's Orchard would be in the second half of my personal ranking of the album's songs, but I can't speak for everyone obviously.

I wasn't expecting to like it when I first came across it (don't know why, artwork is pretty cool), but it's pretty fucking good. Unfortunately that song on youtube is probably the worst on the album. Not bad, just not great.
