[Un]Official 2011 Metal Thread

This new Opeth album does deliver, it's like Akerfeldt felt it was safe this time to go for the "fuck it" approach and do the album he's been meaning to do for 10 years or so. Songs are deep and lots are left to discover for the next spin. The guitar fuzz took me aback for about five seconds then i realized it was the perfect sound for the enterprise at work. Not saying it's totally gaymazing, just as thoroughly enjoyable as it was unexpected (and needed after I gradually lost interest in the band since BWP).

And, yeah, no growls (finally!)

All my bands' recent efforts have sucked....so I don't really any expect anything different

I have a promo. Just wanted to be an ass

(and let you know it's good so leave your fingernails in peace)

Please tell me the rest of it is better than The Devil's Orchard song floating around... that was incredibly forgetable.

let's say it falls into place when you hear the bulk. The Devil's Orchard would be in the second half of my personal ranking of the album's songs, but I can't speak for everyone obviously.

Think this is the only one from the album on youtube. Shame, was hoping for the Sermon on the Mount or Kaivalya of the Black Magician.
